Bank Independent has been such a blessing to the William Porter Foundation. We appreciate their hard work each year and their contribution of gifts to the children in the community.

Bank Independent’s annual Toy Share Drive once again delivered holiday cheer to children across North Alabama, collecting 2,924 toys and raising $2,763.99 in cash during the 2025 drive.

Today, we were reminded that legacies don’t end—they live on through love, service, and the lives we touch. 💙

The William Porter Foundation Christmas Toy Store distribution was held on what would have been William Porter’s 83rd birthday—a detail that feels anything but coincidental. He loved Christmas. He loved joy. And above all, he was a passionate advocate for children.

Midway through distributions, one of the Porter sisters paused, took it all in, and said it best as she reflected on just how proud he would be to see this moment—hundreds of families, shelves full of toys, and a community coming together in his name.

This is the legacy William Porter left behind: compassion in action, generosity without limits, and a commitment to showing children they are seen, valued, and loved. Today wasn’t just about toys—it was about honoring a life that continues to make a difference. 🎄✨

Old Die Tech Building

🚪 Entrance:
Please enter through the front door of the building.

🚗 Parking:
Please park in the front or along the side of the building.

⏰ Appointment Time:
Please do not enter the building more than 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. This helps us keep everything running smoothly for all families.

👧🧒 Important Reminder:
Children are not allowed inside the Toy Store.
Please make arrangements for childcare before your appointment.

🚲 Large Item Pick-Up:
If you requested large items (such as bikes), please arrive in a vehicle that can safely accommodate your items.

Our Christmas Toy Store Distribution Day is almost here, and we still have an urgent need for volunteers to help make the day run smoothly.

We especially need volunteers this Saturday from 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM to assist parents and guardians as they select gifts for their children. This is one of the most meaningful parts of the entire day — and we can’t do it without YOU.
