The Florence FFA Chapters had an incredible day at North District Eliminations at Wallace State! 💙💛

Our high school chapter competed in 6 contests and represented Florence with excellence:

✨ Employability Skills Finalist: Layla Bryan
➡️ Advancing to State Eliminations on June 9 in Opelika

🔧 Ag Mechanics – 10th out of 29 teams:
Cason Williams, Gatlin Dison, Braxton Lovelace, Nicholas Henry
🏅 Cason Williams placed 10th individually out of 105 competitors

🐎 Horse Evaluation – 2nd out of 50 teams:
Hattie Carter, Evelyn Owens, Haley Stutts
🏆 Hattie Carter was the highest individual scorer out of 140 competitors
➡️ Advancing to State Eliminations on May 29 in Auburn

🐟 Aquaculture – 5th out of 23 teams:
Tess Stone, Angel Tran, Lynlee Burton, Gianna Pham
🏅 Gianna Pham placed 8th individually out of 70 competitors

🚜 Tractor Driving – 2nd Place: Hayden Ball
➡️ Advancing to State Eliminations on June 9 in Opelika

🎤 Extemporaneous Speaking – 7th Place: Amira McCoy

We also celebrated Angel Tran as she concluded her service as the 2025–2026 North District FFA Treasurer. Through her dedication, she earned a Leadership Scholarship from Wallace State—an incredible accomplishment!

Our Florence Middle School FFA Chapter also had a standout day:

🥇 Received Official 1st Place Banner– Discovery Welding Contest

🧠 Quiz Bowl – 2nd Place Overall:
Deakin Shimakonis, Novah-Leah Wells, Bella Rae Howell, Avonlea Bratcher, Wesley Ryan, Caleb Johnson, Alina Apger
📚 1st Place in the written portion
🏅 Deakin Shimakonis tied for the highest individual written score
➡️ Advancing to State Eliminations on June 9 in Opelika

🔧 Ag Mechanics – 8th out of 29 teams:
Lilyana Apger, Jacin Gray, Brighton King, Axel Garcia, Taite Stone
🏅 Axel Garcia placed 16th individually out of 105 competitors

Our middle school welding team stepped up to compete in the Ag Mechanics contest with limited formal training and still placed in the Top 10—an impressive achievement!

We could not be more proud of these students and their hard work, dedication, and determination! Go Falcons! 💙

The Florence FFA Chapters had a great day at Calhoun Community College today!

Congratulations to the Middle School Chapter from winning first place in the Discovery Welding Contest!

Congratulations to Eli Tubbs, Florence High School FFA Member and Agriculrural Welding 2 student Eli Tubbs for earning 6th place in the MIG Welding contest!

We are so proud of all our members and their hard work today.

WE SERVE OTHERS: Florence High School and Freshman Center's Future Farmers of America Officers recently delivered and distributed Christmas cards to residents at Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Florence. The officer team shared nearly 200 Christmas cards, bringing smiles and holiday cheer to the residents and individuals at the facility.

This Christmas card project was created by the FFA Officers last year and has now become a cherished tradition for the chapter. The officers were honored to spread the joy of Christmas and brighten the holiday season for so many.

We sincerely appreciate the staff and all individuals at Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for welcoming our FFA chapter and allowing us the opportunity to share in this special holiday tradition.
