Preparing Tomorrow’s Healthcare Workforce!

Penny Poplar-Herd, Senior Program Director for the Flint Healthcare Employment Opportunities (FHEO Program), had the pleasure of participating as a panelist at the Michigan Health Council’s Michigan Healthcare Workforce Summit, where she delivered a presentation highlighting how the Greater Flint Health Coalition's PULSE Program is preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals.

During her presentation, Penny shared how PULSE provides young adults ages 18–24 with hands-on work experiences, career exploration, mentorship, and supportive services that help bridge the gap between education and employment in the healthcare industry.

Penny shared, "It was a wonderful opportunity to share our work, exchange ideas with fellow workforce leaders, and highlight the importance of investing in young talent to build a stronger, more sustainable healthcare workforce."

The future of healthcare starts with the opportunities we create today!
