One of our favorite things about every Sensory Friendly Production is that we always have audience members young and old who are seeing their FIRST production ever! While our family shows tend to have lots of families and younger first-time-theatre goers, Sensory Friendly performances are for everyone and allow people to enjoy a more relaxed and accommodated atmosphere, and is the perfect way to get your friends and family into theatre!
Whether you have needs that make seeing standard productions difficult, have children who might need to stand up or move around to get through a show, you need to have a lower capacity audience for medical reasons, or maybe you just want to enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere or any wide variety of reasons, the Sensory Friendly Performances aim to make sure that everyone can enjoy theatre!
We still have plenty of seats available for our Saturday April 25th Sensory Friendly Performance, we hope to see you there!!
EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT!
Sensory friendly/relaxed performance for PETER AND THE STARCATCHER!
Saturday April 25th at 2:30 PM we will be featuring a special sensory friendly/relaxed performance of our highly anticipated show PETER AND THE STARCATCHER!
With sensory friendly/relaxed performances nothing about the story will be changed, but during the show, the house lights above you will remain on at about half level through the entire performance. We have also modified all of our sounds to be a bit quieter, and the actors will be adjusting their volume and larger acting choices accordingly!
This type of show is perfect for people who may have a hard time with crowds, sensory needs, auto-immune needs, neurodivergent needs, disability needs, and any other needs that might be difficult in a full house setting. Even if you just prefer a matinee on a Saturday, this showing is intended for everyone!
Our family sensory friendly/relaxed performances are also perfect opportunities to introduce younger family members to live theatre!
During this show seating is choose-your-own-seating, and we emphasize the option for standing, moving, talking, eating, and anything else that you may need. This is a judgment-free zone and we want everyone to be able to enjoy the show in the best way you can! That said, we ask that you do not approach the stage - this is for your safety and the safety of our cast and crew.
If you feel you need a break, you are welcome to use our swan room, which is being designated as a break room for the performance. There are sensory tools available there, as well as earplugs and a few seats.
If you have any questions or need anything, we will have several volunteers posted around the auditorium that would be more than happy to help!
We look forward to bringing you the 7th sensory friendly/relaxed performance!
