Hello FairSky Community,

As you know, SNAP benefits are delayed due to the federal government shutdown. While the benefits may start again this week, if they do, they will only be at 50% of what they were before the shutdown--which is not enough to begin with. And while some representatives in the Michigan legislature are trying to provide increased food funding, their bills have not yet passed and people are going hungry now!

Here's a link to FairSky's Resources ( https://www.fairskymi.org/resources ) page, with an updated section regarding food related resources for any one that needs them.

FairSky has also started a donation drive for any one who can help (suggested $10). All money raised by FairSky will be donated to the Food Bank Council ( https://www.fbcmich.org/ ) to provide food to those in need throughout Michigan. FairSky will match each person's donation (i.e. for every $1 donated by a staff member or friends and family, FairSky will donate $1) up to $1000 total.

October 5th was a blast! Thank you again everyone who donated, attended, and or performed. From poetry to dancing, solo artist to our amazing band, and live painting to silent actions…… nothing went undone!
