Fellowship of Christian Airline Personnel International - FCAP To see Christians connect in every area of the airline/aviation workplace throughout the world

To encourage Christians to walk with the Lord Jesus Christ, enjoying His presence and possessing His power to be “salt and light” on the job God has given them in the airlines and, to encourage the Christian airline employee to help carry out the Great Commission, introducing fellow employees to Jesus Christ and helping them grow toward spiritual maturity.

People who work in our industry often travel a lot when they are not working. Some have visited a hundred nations or more. Yet they may feel like all they have experienced on their journeys has never given them the satisfaction they thought it would. Why is this?

While we remain here on earth, there always seems to be a sense that we have not truly received the thing we desire most.

This is the nagging sense that something we desperately want remains just out of reach. We sense its reality, sometimes even its partial presence, but we remain displaced from it.

What is it? Our full redemption will come when we are finally face-to-face with Jesus Christ.

Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. Psalm 73:25

Someone once said airline people tend to work hard and play hard. Fair enough, but it is important that the “playing” does not involve a return to activities that offend God and hurt both us and others.

“Spiritual amnesia” regarding what sin did to us before our conversion to Christ weakens our resistance to transgression in the here and now. Giving way to such thinking is dangerous because temptation is never more powerful than when a believer starts to envy those who live in sin and seem to enjoy their condition. Temptation’s voice tells us that we should do as the society around us does and seek whatever gives us pleasure. The idols of the world masquerade as roads to fulfillment, and doubting Christians are far more likely to make a wrong turn down one of those roads if they become disgusted, for whatever reason, with their own spiritual walk.

The people of FCAP International are deeply saddened by the loss of a U.S. Air Force B-52 at Edwards Air Force Base in California, as well as a NetJets Citation in Texas, in the last few days. We pray for God's comfort to touch the families and friends of the combined total of 10 people lost in these accidents. May His love and mercy deeply touch them all during this very difficult and tragic time.

AeroMexico has been and remains the national flag carrier of Mexico. It was a major operator of the Douglas DC-8, and here we see a very special example of the breed, DC-8-51 XA-DDE, taxying at Miami International. Why is this particular airplane so special? Because it is the very first of these famous first-generation jetliners ever built! After a long period of flight testing was completed on the 1957-build aircraft, it was sold, in 1962, to Trans-International Airlines (TIA) and then went on to fly for several carriers, culminating in AeroMexico, which operated this “first of its breed” as XA-DDE until 1982, when it was stored and later, sadly, scrapped.

Throwback Thursdays are a weekly journey into the past of our industry. If any of you have specific airlines/airplanes you’d like to see featured, feel free to drop us a line, and we will see if we can find them for you.
