At Cards Over Clicks, we believe in encouraging children to take social media timeouts while developing learning skills through old fashion card collecting.

We’re looking for local energetic volunteers who are willing to donate a little time to encourage children through:

• Volunteering at local community events where we are setup.
• Creating our complimentary customized educational card packs.
• Donating Sports, Pokemon, Disney, and other cards.
• Building confidence, teamwork, and communication skills

Sometimes the smallest moments become the biggest memories. A kind word, a shared hobby, or simply showing up can help a child feel seen, valued, and motivated to grow. ❤️

Denny Loewer hoped his young nonprofit, Cards Over Clicks, might win a single Citizen's Choice Award. Instead, it won four - more than any other organization this year - including Best Local Hero and Which Local Nonprofit Makes the Biggest Difference? Launched in 2025 as Loewer's retirement passion project, Cards Over Clicks pairs free trading cards with educational worksheets to give kids a reason to look up from their screens, distributing more than 5,000 free packs to students so far. His measure of success stays simple: making a difference for even one child. ❤️

We had the pleasure of meeting Amy Akeman and her husband, Chris. Amy is the founder of . Ethan’s Reach is a Georgia non-profit putting Resqme vehicle extrication tools on the keychains of new drivers. - in memory of Ethan Self, 2002-2024.

Congratulations Fayette County Public Schools! This is great news! Fayette Chamber of Commerce

All five of Fayette County's high schools have landed in the top 19 percent nationally on U.S. News & World Report's 2026-2027 Best High Schools list, which ranked nearly 18,000 public high schools. McIntosh led the way in the top 3 percent nationwide, followed by Starr's Mill (top 4 percent), Whitewater (top 11 percent), Fayette County High (top 15 percent), and Sandy Creek (top 19 percent) - with all five also ranking among Georgia's top 100. 🎉

The newest Stanford-Harvard-Dartmouth Education Scorecard research suggests that that the United States is experiencing a Learning Recession.

Multiple factors likely contributing:

1) Easing of federal accountability
2) Social media and smartphone dependency.
3) Increased school screen usage.
4) Chronic absenteeism
5) Declining reading stamina and attention.

Schools must intentionally rebuild focus, literacy, communication, and deep learning. Card’s Over Clicks is an educational 501(c)(3) that encourages children to take social media timeouts while developing learning skills through card collecting! www.CardsOverClicks.org
