What an amazing way to kick off our UmattR assemblies! šŸ’™

Today we had our first assembly of the year at Ladera Elementary, and it was such a great day! We were especially excited to meet Rhece, the brother of one of our UmattR team members. Rhece is also a very special part of Talonā€™s story, which made todayā€™s assembly even more meaningful. ā¤ļø

Seeing that connection come full circle and getting to share our message with the students at Ladera was something we wonā€™t forget.

Thank you, Ladera Elementary, for welcoming the UmattR team! We couldnā€™t have asked for a better start to our assembly season. What a great day to remind kids that they matter! šŸ’™

Hey Iā€™m Nataly I go to Farmington high school! Iā€™m in cross country, cheer, and track. I want to continue doing cheer after high school, and become an occupational therapist. I love being apart of this community with kids that have the same morals as me. Hi everyone! My name is Genavieve Reeves, and Iā€™m a senior at Aztec High School. Iā€™m so excited to be part of this yearā€™s UmattR team and have the opportunity to make a difference in our community!

A little about me~Iā€™m involved in Student Council, National Honor Society, Track & Field and, of course, UmattR! Iā€™m also an intern student and a dual-credit student maintaining a 4.3 GPA. Outside of school, I love being outdoors, traveling, hiking, camping, spending time at the lake, and of course making memories with my friends and family.

After high school, I plan to continue my education out of state earning my bachelorā€™s degree with the goal of becoming a NICU nurse.

My motto is simple~ā€Peer pressure is a choice, and it matters who you surround yourself with.ā€ I believe the people you surround yourself with can have a huge impact on the choices you make and the person you become. I hope to encourage other students to stay true to themselves, make choices they can be proud of, and remember that saying no is always an option.

Hey everyone. My name is Odin McMinn and I go to Farmington high school where iā€™m a member of the tennis team and NHS. Some of my favorite hobbies are to skate, snowboard, dirtbike, sew, and hunt. I plan to go to college in state and become a civil engineer or a nuclear engineer. Hello! My name is Sadie Current, and Iā€™m a senior at Piedra Vista High School. Iā€™m the youngest in my family with an older sister and brother and I have a dog named Lucy. Some of my favorite things to do are play volleyball, hike, fish, ski, read, and bake. I love being active and spending time outdoors, but I also enjoy slowing down with a good book or trying something new in the kitchen. One of my absolute favorite things to do is spend quality time with good friends!

After I graduate from high school, one of my biggest goals is to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After my mission, I plan to continue my education and pursue a career as a phlebotomist and medical assistant.

A motto I try to live by and hope to share with others is that ā€œBeing successful does not mean being perfect.ā€ It reminds me that success is about continuing to grow, work hard, learn from mistakes, and keep moving forward, even when everything doesnā€™t go exactly as planned.

Hey everyone! My name is Talon Stowell, and Iā€™m from Farmington High School. Iā€™m super excited and grateful to be part of this yearā€™s UmattR team!

A little about me I love sports and being involved at my school. I participate in football, track, and basketball, and Iā€™ve always loved the competition, teamwork, and friendships that come with being part of a team. Outside of school, I love being outdoors and spending time on the water. Some of my favorite things to do are surfing, wakeboarding, boating, and just being out on the lake with my family and friends. Iā€™m always looking for an adventure and making memories with the people I care about.

After high school, I plan to serve a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When I return, I hope to continue playing football at the next level and keep working toward my goals.

One message I hope to share with students this year is that the challenges you go through donā€™t have to determine who you become. Keep pushing forward, work hard, and donā€™t let your circumstances decide your future. You are capable of becoming stronger than anything youā€™ve been through, and you donā€™t have to go through it alone.

Hi everyone!! My name is Nora McPherson, and hereā€™s a little bit about me! I attend Farmington High School, where I play varsity volleyball. Iā€™ve been playing volleyball for a little over 10 years now and Iā€™ve been playing on the varsity team at FHS for 2 years coming up on my 3rd, I also did traveling volleyball for 5 years as well, itā€™s something Iā€™m incredibly passionate about. You may have seen me working at POP Drinks or taking pictures with my parents around the community or if you see a blonde girl at ice age getting a matcha, thatā€™s definitely me šŸ˜‚ Outside of school and volleyball, I love traveling, spending time with the people I love, and staying active. I am part of the National Honor Society program at Farmington highschool as well as maintained a 4.0 GPA through my dual-credit classes and my classes at the high school. After high school, I plan on attending medical school to become a dermatologist. I havenā€™t decided on a college just yet, but Iā€™ve been looking at a few schools in Utah, Texas, and Arizona. Hopefully, Iā€™ll know by the end of the year! ;) My motto is, ā€œ what we give doesnā€™t always return, what we give will always be what we are.ā€ Iā€™m so excited to be a part of this program to meet all of the kids, get to know more people in our community, and build the best friendships with everyone on this team.
