🎉June 22–26 is National Boys & Girls Club Week!

In celebration of National Boys & Girls Club Week, today we’re highlighting one of the main ways Clubs help young people grow the self-confidence and resilience to become successful, caring, and productive adults.

Today we celebrate “Leader in Me Day.”

Every young person has the potential to lead. "Leader in Me Day" celebrates the development of youth leadership, self-confidence, and personal growth. Club Kids learn to use their voices, advocate for themselves and others, make thoughtful decisions, and persevere through challenges. By building resilience and confidence, they discover that leadership isn't about a title—it's about making a positive impact wherever they go!

To kick-off National Boys & Girls Club Week, the Sanford Maris Academy Annual Celebration brought together CLUB Teens, the Maris family, and Sanford Health to recognize a year of growth, goal achievement, and career exploration. The Maris family presented awards to teens who participated in Maris Academy career experiences. In addition, four teens were honored with special awards for demonstrating Roger Maris’ core principles of success: Preparation, Hard Work, Competitive Spirit, and Teamwork. Following the recognition ceremony, the Maris family joined teens for an afternoon of bowling and arcade games!

The Sanford Maris Academy is a partnership between Sanford Health and The CLUB Teen Center. Designed for students in grades 6–12, this multi-year program provides meaningful career exploration opportunities, connects teens with local professionals, and helps prepare young people for future education and workforce success right here in our community.

✨ Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future! ✨
Our Club Kids gathered at the Rose Creek Youth Center for a special collaborative art project celebrating influential Black leaders throughout history. With the help of amazing volunteers from the Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota, Club Kids colored, cut, and created paper quilt pieces that came together to form a vibrant quilt titled "Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future." 💙

🎷🎶 Exploring careers in music! 🎶🎷
Our CLUB Teen's Maris Academy had an inspiring visit from Russell M. Peterson, Associate Professor of Saxophone, Bassoon, and Jazz Ensemble I at Concordia College in Moorhead. MN.
CLUB Teens learned about exciting opportunities in the music industry, including songwriting, performance, music production, and more.

A huge thank you to the Choice Bank volunteers who generously gave their time to assemble Power Hour packets for our Club Kids!

Because of your support, our youth will enjoy engaging games, puzzles, word searches, and other educational activities that make Power Hour both fun and meaningful. Your dedication helps create enriching learning experiences and encourages a love of learning beyond the classroom.

Design a Bug! 🐞 Club Kids let their imagination crawl, fly, and buzz!

Club Kids became insect inventors by creating their very own unique bugs! Using shapes, colors, patterns, and lots of creativity, they designed insects unlike anything found in nature! 🦋

From colorful wings and silly antennae to spotted bodies and extra legs, every bug was one-of-a-kind. Youth were encouraged to think creatively, express themselves through art, and share their amazing creations with the group. 🎨🐜

Big thanks to our local Panda Express restaurants and the Panda Cares Foundation for helping inspire creativity and imagination in our Club kids. 🐼💙

When School Is Out, Clubs Are In!
It was a beautiful day at Midwest Kids Fest, and we loved meeting so many families at our booth!
Parents learned about our full-day summer programs for youth in grades K–5, while teens in grades 6–12 discovered the many opportunities available through the CLUB Teen Center's FREE summer program. Led by trained and caring adults, our programs provide safe, fun, and enriching experiences all summer long.

From outdoor adventures, swimming, STEM activities, art, sports, and career-focused field trips to making new friends and exploring new interests, Club members have countless opportunities to learn, grow, and discover their passions! Great Summers Start Here! ☀️

The Meet Me @ the CLUB event was a glowing success! ✨
CLUB Teen members invited friends to visit the CLUB Teen Center for an evening of fun, connection, and community. Guests enjoyed a tour of The CLUB, competed in e-sports, and wrapped up the night with an exciting Glow Party!

This special event was planned and hosted entirely by our CLUB Teens through Keystone Club and Torch Club, showcasing their leadership, teamwork, and creativity.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the evening memorable. We can't wait to see you at the next event! 💙
