Forever Paws Animal Shelter gives animals a renewed leash on life by assisting them while homeless, in danger, or generally in need. We work in collaboration with our Law Enforcement Agencies, members of the public, and other organizations to improve the lives of animals. Our mission is to re-home animals in an ethically positive way that is beneficial to the overall well-being of the animal and o

ur community. Forever Paws works to give animals the gift of time through managed intake. This allows us to offer comprehensive treatment and care to stray, abused, or abandoned animals. Forever Paws continues to operate under no-kill practices, offering care for all treatable conditions with no restrictions on length of stay. We will always place the quality of life of an animal as our most paramount charge. Forever Paws is devoted to educating future generations to foster compassionate and humane attitudes towards all species of animal.

Meet Rocky!

Please excuse the watermelon, he just got neutered ✨

This guy is NOT for first time dog owners. He's a whole lot of dog with a whole lot of energy and a whole lot of personality and his personality is just as enormous as he is!

Rocky is a golden retriever. Yes, we're sure. He's 86lbs. Again, yes, we're sure. The good news is that he won't be getting any bigger because he's a little over 5.5 years old.

While he can be a little nervous for the first, like, 30 seconds of meeting new people, Rocky is 100% a people person. He's an attention seeker, an absolute ham, and has more charisma than he knows what to do with. He's smart AND he's stubborn so good luck 🫡 He KNOWS his cues but whether or not he listens to you...that's the question. He isn't terrible on a leash but he's a big guy with a heavy pull and the aforementioned stubborn streak.

Rocky does well with other dogs but, again, he is A LOT of dog and he's a golden so he has a lot of bouncy d***y energy. He has shown no red flags with cats so far - he just minds his own business and stays in his lane. He does NOT do well with children, mainly because he doesn't know his own size and strength so we're looking for an adult only home, but teenagers would probably be fine especially if the family has dog experience.

Rocky will need someone who knows what they're doing - he wasn't given a lot of structure in his previous home so doesn't have the best manners at times. He is not aggressive, he is just used to doing whatever he wants however he wants whenever he wants.

You MUST have an APPROVED application in order to come meet our kittens!

We also prioritize applicants who apply for a pair of kittens rather than just one.

The application usually cannot be completed from a smartphone but CAN be completed from a desktop or a laptop. Alternatively, you can print it out, fill it out by hand, and then take photos of each page and email them to us as attachments.

If you are on our kitten wish list already and you are still interested, PLEASE reach out to us. We have contacted multiple families on our wish list more than once and have not heard back.

Note: Where it asks what animal you are interested in, you can just put "kitten" or, if you have preferences, list them there as well. (Male vs female, a certain coat length, a specific color, etc.)

We have open appointments today and tomorrow for you to come meet our available animals! We have a bunch of different dogs including a golden retriever, three frenchies/frenchie mixes, two cane corsos, a podengo, and a few littles!

Meet Calamity Jane!

This girl....💜

Calamity is another sweet dog found in the reservation and we can't understand why no one ever came forward or called for her because she's the biggest, sweetest smush that just wants to roll around with a toy and soak up all of the attention she can get her paws on.

According to her microchip (which ended up being a dead end...we tried), she's a little over five years old and she's a catahoula leopard dog mix. She's a BIG girl at just under 80lbs and, nope, she's not overweight...just a big lady.

Calamity LOVES toys and she will go HAM for a ball or a squeaky toy. She'll play catch/fetch with herself, slap them around, play tug, etc. When she's not going absolutely wild with a tennis ball, she enjoys attention in the form of scratches, pets, smooches, and ear rubs. She's an active girl that loves her walks and she's actually pretty good on a leash despite being the size of a small horse. She's also SUPER smart and has a good foundation for continuing training - someone put some definite work into this dog which makes her circumstances even more of a question mark.

One thing Calamity does NOT like? Cats. Not a fan, no thank you, please keep them far away. She does well with other dogs. We would also prefer a home with kids 12+ since she is a hefty lady, doesn't always know her own size, and we don't have a history on her.

Meet Cream Cheese!

Cream Cheese is not photogenic, both because he does not care to participate in something as trivial as a "photoshoot" and because he throws an unholy fit if someone tries to groom his head so he literally looks like a Q-tip.

He obviously has some unresolved trauma in regards to having his head/face touched. He was found as a stray so unfortunately we have no idea what his circumstances were like prior to coming to us.

Cream Cheese is about four years old, he weighs 12lbs, and he seems to be a bichon mix. We don't know what he's mixed with. Poodle, terrier, maltese, we genuinely have no idea.

He's an independent sorta guy that likes doing his own thing while occasionally checking to make sure you're still in the vicinity. He won't be snuggled up in your lap or trying to climb into your skin with you, but he'll definitely keep an eye on you to make sure that you haven't wandered too far. He LOVES plush toys and will definitely engage if you have one. He also loves his walks and is a dillydally enthusiast. He doesn't like to go anywhere or do anything in a hurry, ugh, stop rushing him!

Cream Cheese does well with other dogs in the sense that he has no fear and is completely unbothered. They can bark right in his face and he'll just be like "yeah, whatevs, you need to calm down". He would do well with dog-savvy cats. Kids 12+ would be best because they need to understand that he is NOT a fan of his head being touched. He definitely has some trauma that he needs help working through and will also need a groomer patient and knowledgeable enough to work with him at his pace. Again, you cannot rush him to do ANYTHING.

(He's due to have his head/face groomed under sedation next week. It's fine. He won't look like a dandelion puff forever. We can't promise it will make him more photogenic though.)
