Not every aircraft departure is routine.

Yesterday, members of IAFF Local I-77 had the privilege of honoring the athletes of Special Olympics New Jersey with a water arch salute as they departed Trenton-Mercer Airport for the 2026 USA Games in Minneapolis.

Behind every seat on that aircraft is a story of determination, resilience, and achievement. We were proud to recognize those accomplishments and help send Team New Jersey on their way in a memorable fashion.

We wish all of the athletes safe travels, great success, and an unforgettable experience representing our state on the national stage.

Bring home the memories, make lifelong friendships, and most importantly, enjoy the journey. New Jersey is rooting for you every step of the way. 🇺🇸🏅

Last week, Local 77 members conducted FAA Part 139 live fire training focused on real-world ARFF operations and coordinated response tactics. Training evolutions included turret operations, simulated fuel and engine fires, and interior aircraft firefighting scenarios designed to sharpen operational readiness under high-stress conditions.

We also appreciate our mutual aid partners from Ewing Fire Station 30 and Hopewell Fire Station 50 for attending and participating throughout the training week. Additionally, we would like to thank our partners at PNE for their continued participation and support during the live burn training exercises throughout the week.

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

This Memorial Day, Local 77 proudly stands in remembrance of those who gave everything in service to our nation and the freedoms we hold dear. Their courage, sacrifice, and legacy will never be forgotten.

On May 17, 2026, C shift responded on automatic aid to Ewing Township for a building fire. When units arrived, they discovered a small fire on a deck with minor extension. Fortunately, the sprinkler system effectively contained the fire. Station 34 contributed manpower and was responsible for the overhaul.
