Led by Greg K3EA, DVRA members and guests gathered at the Shack recently to learn about the theory behind the “Rybakov” vertical antenna, then build one.

The Rybakov is a compact and versatile multi-band antenna covering 10 through 40 meters. It includes a 25 foot vertical element, a 4:1 unun, an antenna tuner and radial field at the base of the antenna.

The antenna is ideal for portable (POTA/SOTA) and stealth setups, and offers low-angle radiation for DX contacts.

DVRA members run educational events at the shack about once each month. They include seminars on topics of interest to amateur radio operators and hands-on workshops.

Watch this space and the club website for details on the next program.
