Ellarslie Museum in Cadwalader Park (which was annexed from Ewing in 1900) was built as a private home by Henry McCall in
1848.
The Trenton Psychiatric Hospital also in Ewing Township was founded by Dorothea Dix in 1848.
Originally known as the “Outlands”, a portion of the Trenton Country Club was built as a private home in 1808.

Our next program is this coming Sunday, March 12th from 2-4 pm. The presentation will be a live presentation at the Benjamin Temple House at 27 Federal City Road, Ewing NJ. Local historian and author, Larry Kidder, will speak about "Carlisle Indian School Students' Experiences in Ewing Township: c. 1885 - 1915". Several Carlisle students lived for some time with local Ewing Township families.

Below are two pictures of James G. Dickson, a Carlisle School student, who worked at the Vernam Dairy in Ewing Township from probably 1900 to 1904. The first photo is dated 1904 and states that he was a current student of Carlisle. The second photo is his student file photo when he studied at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago between 1905-1907 to become a Presbyterian Pastor.
