Hurricane Season Begins Today – Are You Ready?

Today marks the official start of Atlantic Hurricane Season, which runs from June 1 through November 30.

The New Jersey Emergency Management Association (NJEMA) encourages all local Offices of Emergency Management, emergency responders, and community partners to remind residents that preparedness starts before a storm is on the radar.

✅ Review your family emergency plan
✅ Know your evacuation routes
✅ Sign up for local emergency alerts
✅ Stay informed through trusted sources

Even storms that do not make landfall in New Jersey can bring heavy rain, flooding, damaging winds, and power outages. Taking simple steps today can make a big difference tomorrow.
