The Indiana Volunteer Firefighters Association would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Tony Murray, President of the Professional Firefighters Union of Indiana, and everyone involved in the annual Firefighter Memorial Service honoring Indiana firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty during the previous year.

IVFA President Ross Emery was honored to stand alongside President Murray and members of Indiana’s fire service as we came together to remember and honor our fallen brothers and sisters.

Moments like these remind us that whether career or volunteer, we are all part of one fire service family, united by the same mission, traditions, and commitment to serving our communities.

We are grateful for the opportunity to stand together in remembrance and pay tribute to those who gave their lives in service to others.

Today, the Indiana Volunteer Firefighters Association joins our nation in solemn remembrance of the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to honor the 2,977 lives lost that day, including 343 members of the FDNY, along with law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, members of our Armed Forces, and countless others whose lives were forever changed.

For those of us in the fire service, September 11 carries a special meaning. We remember the firefighters who climbed the stairs while others were coming down. We remember the courage, sacrifice, and selflessness shown by first responders who answered the call without hesitation.
We also remember those who later lost their lives from illnesses connected to their service at Ground Zero and the recovery efforts that followed.

As volunteer firefighters across Indiana, may we continue to honor their legacy through service, courage, brotherhood, and dedication to our communities.

Twenty-five years have passed, but we will never forget.

The Indiana Volunteer Firefighters Association is excited to share a great opportunity from the Indiana State Fair!

Starting Wednesday, August 19th through Sunday, August 23rd, the Indiana State Fair is offering FREE admission to:

👨‍🚒 Current & former First Responders
🚓 Law Enforcement
🚑 EMS
🪖 Current & former Military members
❤️ Their families

🎟️ How does it work?
Simply present valid ID at the gate and receive FREE admission during the remainder of the Fair!

After everything our first responders, military members, and their families give to our communities and our country, it’s great to see the Indiana State Fair showing their appreciation.

So grab the family, head to the Fair, and enjoy a day on them! 🎡🎢🐴
