Redwood Coast Village (RCV) is a membership program that helps older adults age 50+ connect with their community and age in place via services – such as transportation, household help, and pet care – provided by RCV volunteers.

All interested community members are invited to join us on February 11 to learn more about the benefits of becoming an RCV member or volunteer. This event also will include a special presentation on Medicare fraud prevention.

Remember, Medicare and Social Security will never ask for your personal details like your Medicare number or Social Security number in unsolicited messages.

Be careful with unexpected texts, calls, or emails asking for your medical information. These may be scams trying to steal your information. Always check if the message is real by logging into your health insurance account through a link you trust or by contacting them directly. If you believe someone has stolen your medical information and is using it, contact your Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP). SMPs empower and assist Medicare beneficiaries, their families, and caregivers to prevent, detect, and report Medicare fraud, errors, and abuse. Watch out for people that say they represent Medicare. Be cautious of non-government sources especially during Medicare Open Enrollment. Protect, Detect & Report Fraud to California Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP).

⚠️Have you received an unsolicited phone call from someone claiming they were working with Medicare or others wanting to sell or change your Medicare plan?
⚠️Has someone come to your door with leaflets or other marketing materials about different Medicare plans?
⚠️Be on the lookout for any packets in the mail welcoming you to a new plan. If you get a packet like this, your plan was likely switched without you realizing it. Contact the Senior Medicare Patrol to report this. Call 877-808-2468 or email [email protected].
