TWELVE:✨ This summer they were your Elsa and Anna but on October 15th, 2014 they were elementary school students performing in their school talent show when the first iteration of Main Stage Humboldt began as a DreamMaker project under the Ink People Center for the Arts. Celebrating our 12th year with so many of our Young Performers alumni on stage has been something special. Watching the “original” kids share the stage with the next generation, all with shared values of hard work, kindness, being there for each other, and “professional unicorn” 🦄 goofiness is our favorite experience yet 🥹. A consistent reminder of our mission to bring together our incredibly talented, driven local youth with arts professionals to create experiences that otherwise would not be possible in Humboldt County. We believe that our young people deserve the very best opportunities and experiences in the arts and we’re incredibly grateful for the nationwide community of artists that support and uplift this vision all throughout the year. We never could have imagined all that school talent show performance would lead to. Today we reflect in gratitude for the joy the last twelve years have brought us, as well as the lessons, the challenges, and most importantly, our incredible Main Stage family. Wherever you are in the world tonight we are thinking of of you and can’t wait to come together again for our little theatre in the redwoods 🌲
📸 All of these gorgeous stage and behind the scenes photos were taken by our incredible director of this summer’s Frozen .curry. Krista is multi-talented theatre artist who’s developed and poured into us on every level over the last two years and has made and incredible impact on our Main Stage community. Today we celebrate two years of knowing Krista as well, our favorite 10th anniversary gift 🌟 ✨😄
