Summer Stained Glass Class Celebrates the Turtle!
Free Arts Class: "Stained Glass Turtle" with Artist Erica Unterwoman of Aubergine Glass & Jewelry is Monday/June 29, 2026, 5:30-am-7:30pm! For Teens/Adults.
Learn to create a small stained-glass ornament/suncatcher:
Each participant receives a pre-cut glass kit pre-packaged by Teaching Artist Erica Unterwoman of Aubergine Glass & Jewelry who will guide the class through the steps of creating their pieces.
All materials and equipment are provided. Please note: students will use soldering irons and are required to wear safety glasses during the class. If you wear reading glasses, please bring them. Glass colors will vary.

Service and hope! Community Arts of Elmira was honored to be recognized in the esteemed company of Pawz & Purrz Animal Rescue, Inc., the Pink Boutique at the YWCA Elmira and the Twin Tiers and The Taylor Foundation today by the Chemung County Sunrise Rotary Club, for the services each organization provides for the community, and for the hope they generate in that service. The motto of the Chemung County Sunrise Rotary Club is "Service above Self" and the ambitious list of how the Club itself itself serves the community year-round is truly remarkable. We are humbled, inspired and so very grateful for this special community occasion, May 17, 2026, 7am ILL EAGLE Taphouse with breakfast by Linny’s Cinnys. Thank you, in turn, to each and everyone connected to Community Arts of Elmira who helps the organization "to create lasting impact," and thank you, also, to all of the valued organizations in the area whose work serves people with lasting impact in quiet and bold ways, creating community synergy.

Indeed, a Day of Action! Thank you to the United Way of the Southern Tier team of tremendous individuals who helped to organize the galleries at Community Arts of Elmira today, storing tables, chairs, and art supplies after several recent whirlwind community events In Elmira, and that was after volunteering at the The Salvation Army, Elmira Citadel across the street! We are so very grateful for the incredible enthusiasm and energy of Alexis, Laura, Megan and Suzanna!

Call for the Black Art Gallery at "Elmira/CorningJuneteenth Freedom Day" celebration, Saturday/June 20, 2026, 12-4pm, Ernie Davis Park 603-657 Dickinson Street! This outdoor, tented, Black Art Gallery is hosted by Elmira Economic Opportunity Program, Inc. through a grant from The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes, and is collaborative with Community Arts of Elmira. Children ages 5 and up to Older Adults can participate. Artist Dion Browne and Artist Jharmi Cuba Leach are the Black Art Gallery Curators, so please deliver original, two-dimensional artwork, preferably wired, to Community Arts of Elmira Saturday/June 13 or Friday/June 19, 11am-1pm, or by appointment by contacting [email protected], Artist Dion Browne and/or Artist Cuba Leach. Tent space is limited so we will let you know when we tentatively have filled the walls of the tent!

"What A Splash! Thank you, Elmira!" We appreciate everyone who made the monumental, transformational public art launch of "Our Community - Water" at The Historic Elmira Promenade railroad viaduct such a home-grown, interactive, synergistic, off-the-charts experience during "Elmira Infinite Canvas - Mural Fest 2026" Hosted by Community Arts of Elmira!
