A little career inspiration for the next generation! 🌟

Last Thursday, members of our team had the opportunity to visit Big Flats Elementary School for Career Development Day!

Students learned about the Food Bank of the Southern Tier and the many different roles it takes to get food into the hands of our neighbors. From food sourcing and distribution to communications and community outreach, every role plays an important part in our mission to build a community where everyone has access to nutritious food.

Thank you to Big Flats Elementary School, Horseheads Central School District, and the Career Development Council for inviting us to share our work and inspire the next generation of community changemakers! 💚

It's been another busy week in the Production Room! 📦💚

Our volunteers have been hard at work sorting and repacking items from mixed pallets containing everything from food to household goods and other non-food essentials.

It takes a lot of helping hands to sort through these items, organize them, and prepare them for distribution to our partner agencies across the Southern Tier.

Every tote sorted and every item repacked helps connect our neighbors with valuable resources while making the most of the products we receive.

A BIG thank you to everyone who showed up, pitched in, and helped keep things moving this week! 💚

🎃𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭: 𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐦𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤! We're looking forward to seeing our volunteers get into the Halloween spirit while continuing to make a difference in the Production Room!

SNAP strengthens more than household food budgets — it strengthens entire communities.

When SNAP benefits are spent at local grocery stores, farmers markets and other food retailers, those dollars support local businesses and help strengthen our local economy.

SNAP is an investment in our neighbors and the communities we all call home. 🧡

Across the Southern Tier, these spaces are making a difference that goes far beyond the groceries on their shelves.

An empty tote and a fresh batch of items ready to go. Not a bad day's work! 📦💚

This week, our volunteers have been busy sorting items collected through our Retail Recovery Program, helping ensure perfectly usable products find their way to neighbors who can use them instead of going to waste.

From food to household goods and personal care items, Retail Recovery helps turn surplus products into valuable resources for our communities.

Every tote sorted means more items ready to make their way to our partner agencies and the neighbors they serve. It's a win-win for everyone! 🙌

A BIG thank you to our volunteers for keeping things moving and making the most of every tote. Your hard work makes a difference!
