At our breakfast meeting a few days ago, we were discussing downtown Ellicott City with Julia Sanger of the Ellicott City Partnership. The topic of the old trolley line, #8, that came from Baltimore via Catonsville came up. Here's an old photo of the trolley crossing the Patapsco. It wasn't that long ago that you could still see the tracks on Main Street!

The #9 trolley, having departed Catonsville, crosses the Patapsco River towards the line's terminus Ellicott City, Maryland • Circa 1947!

So, this morning, this happened! Nearly 1600 pounds of diapers, pull-ups and went to -- EACH!!!! -- the Howard County Food Bank and Columbia Community Care from our Sunrise Rotary Club of Ellicott City! That's almost 1.5 Tons of desperately needed products to the two resources for an increasing number of Howard County residents, including laid-off federal employees and young active duty military.
Members, prospective members, and friends gathered for an early Saturday breakfast at Silver Diner, then went to the loading area at Costco, and caravaned to unload the donations.
As our member John Halt says, "When we do good, we feel good!"
