Elkhart Art League

Elkhart Art League The Elkhart Art League celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2025. In 1951 a civic-minded group of artists reactivated and reorganized the League.

We look forward to another 100 years of helping artists expand their skills and nourish their creative spirit. In 1925 the Artists' Traveling Association was formed to facilitate the travel of artists on painting tours and to art shows and lectures. In 1929 a constitution was written, a more formal organization set up, and the name changed to Elkhart Art League. The contingencies of war-time affec

ted participation in the League during World War II and later. Steady growth of interest and program has marked the years since. In 1962 the League was incorporated as a non-profit corporation. The Internal Revenue Service classifies the League as 501C3, qualifying donations to the League as tax deductible. In 1966 the League raised funds to remodel the former dressing room building of High Dive Park; 511-C Baldwin St. We have since leased the building through the Elkhart Parks and Recreation Department for use as our headquarters and class rooms. The building is centrally located with convenient parking in a pleasant park setting.

🧑🏻‍🎨 EAL artist highlight ✨

Member artist Jen Donaldson spent months creating this hand built vase then meticulously painting it with a southwestern desert scene. It emerged from its final firing in all its glory! Congratulations on a beautiful piece Jen 🤩

☀️🌸 It’s a beautiful day to paint our pottery flowers!

In part 2 of our workshop, our artists are glazing the flowers they created two Saturdays ago. They will go into the kiln next week and be ready for “planting” in a week or two. Stay tuned for pics of these gorgeous creations!

We will be making bird houses in our next pottery workshop on June 20. For more info or to register:

How amazing is this mural on the walls of the Benham underpass by Alex Ann Allen, Brittany Johnson, and Efren Rebugio?

We have been enjoying the progress and can’t wait to see it finished!
