Sending prayers to K9 Zeus, his handler and family and EPD. Rest in peace K9 Zeus. You will be missed. 😟

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of one of our beloved K-9s, K-9 Zeus, who tragically died during training last week.

K-9s are more than working partners, they are members of their handlers family. Each K-9 lives at home with their handler, and the bond formed between a handler, their family, and their K-9 is unlike any other.

Out of respect for the handler and his family, we ask for privacy and understanding during this incredibly difficult time. We appreciate the prayers, support, and compassion shown to our agency and to those most affected by this loss.

Congratulations Officer Bruce!

Last night, Officer Sawyer Bruce was recognized at the annual Freeman Family First Responders Tribute Banquet, held in loving memory of John Freeman. He was selected for this recognition due to his consistent exemplary service to EPD and our citizens.

This week, K9 Indy and her partner, Officer Payne, visited Panther Academy for a K9 demonstration and coloring contest with Mrs. Gregory’s Kindergarten class! 🐾🎨

After careful inspection, Indy selected Ms. Harlow and Ms. Monroe’s artistic renditions of her as the winners! Congratulations, girls! 👏🐶

A big thank you to Panther Academy for the warm welcome and continued support of the Elizabethtown Police Department and our K9 program! 💙
