June 9, 2026 first day of 4-H Summer Camp is in the books! We had a fun-filled day filled with bus rides, getting our bunks ready, and enjoying camp-wide programs. We even had a friend named 'Gnat' who decided a camper who lost her baby tooth needed a snow cone as a treat.

Stay tuned for a day 2 update!

The 2026 4-H Teen Conference was a blast for our Hardin County 4-H teen delegation! This annual leadership conference gives our 4-H teens an opportunity to network with peers across the state, learn more from industry professionals, grow their leadership skills, contribute to a community service project, and have a blast with each other!

Hardin County 4-H teens were able to learn more about the agriculture industry by visiting the Bluegrass Stockyards, learning more from UK Animal Food and Sciences Department, and experience hands-on wildlife management.

For their community service, they visited the Ronald McDonald House and helped clean the facility, write words of encouragement, and clean the outside area. For our Area Night out we had a blast at the Main Event in Lexington.

Be sure to join us next year at 4-H Teen Conference!

Thank you to Silverleaf and the many other local organizations and philanthropists who participated in Reality Fair at North Middle School yesterday!

Prevention Specialists Sonji Holsclaw and Rachel Blevins are set up at North Middle School's Reality Store today!

The Reality Store is a hands-on simulation that gives students the opportunity to explore career paths while making real-world budgeting and lifestyle decisions. Experiences like this help students think critically about planning for the future, financial responsibility, and everyday decision-making.

We’re always grateful for opportunities to connect with students and be part of meaningful educational experiences in our schools.

This school year, we have partnered with each & every HCS and EIS middle schools to provide the 4-H Reality Store program. Through the partnership with Youth Services Center Coordinators at each middle school, hundreds of 7th & 8th grade students have experienced living on a budget and supporting their imaginary families and paying their monthly bills. Today’s event was held at Bluegrass Middle School and final program will take place next week at North Hardin Middle School. A HUGE thank you goes out to our community volunteers that served as booth sponsored and gave our students a little dose of reality!
