Congratulations to our Soror, Janiah Owens, on her internship with the Elizabeth City Police Department ❤️🤍

Please join us in welcoming our new intern, Janiah Owens, to the Elizabeth City Police Department family.

Janiah is a Senior Criminal Justice scholar at Elizabeth City State University with a concentration in Crime Scene Investigation. She also serves as the SGA Corresponding Secretary for the 2026–2027 academic year.

She is passionate about learning the ins and outs of the criminal justice system, particularly forensic science and investigative work. Throughout her time at ECSU, Janiah has developed strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills through both academics and campus involvement.

Janiah enjoys stepping outside of her comfort zone, meeting new people, and embracing opportunities that support her personal and professional growth. Her goal is to continue building her knowledge and experience so she can make a positive impact in the criminal justice field and within the community.

We are excited to have Janiah join our department and ask that everyone extend a warm welcome and support her throughout her internship experience.

On May 15, 2026, members of Delta Chi proudly volunteered at Northeastern High School for the County Field Day activities for all elementary schools. 🛤☀️🏃🏾‍♀️

We had an amazing time volunteering, engaging with the students, and connecting with the community. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day a success! ❤️🤍

May 12th, Soror Williams and Soror Parker proudly represented Elizabeth City State University at HBCU Caucus Day. 💙🤍

During their visit, they also had the opportunity to meet Soror, Senator Natalie Murdock and Soror Karrie G. Dixon, Who served as ECSUs 7th Chancellor❤️💙.

We are proud to see our Sorors continuing to represent Delta Chi and ECSU with excellence, professionalism, and grace in every room they enter, Both On and Off Campus.

Today, The Women Of The Delta Chi Chapter Of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated celebrate and honor the incredible women who lead with grace, nurture with compassion, and love unconditionally.

We also extend our love and prayers to those honoring the memory of mothers and mother figures who are no longer here. Their love remains everlasting, and their presence continues to live on through the lives they touched.

Thank you for every lesson, every prayer, every sacrifice, and every act of love that helped shape us into who we are today. Your impact reaches farther than words could ever express.

On Saturday, April 25, 2026, members of The Delta Chi Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated attended the White Rose Luncheon hosted by the Elizabeth City (NC) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. This event recognized individuals in the community who has impacted the community and it was also a fundraiser to continue to conduct the great things that the Elizabeth City (NC) Chapter does in the community. ❤️💚

A champion for civil rights, women’s empowerment, and lifelong service, she dedicated her life to advancing equity and uplifting communities. Her grace, leadership, and unwavering commitment continue to inspire us to serve with purpose and lead with excellence.
