Albemarle Area United Way: Strengthening Communities Across Northeastern North Carolina
The Albemarle Area United Way is a trusted nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life across nine counties in Northeastern North Carolina: Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Hertford, Pasquotank, and Perquimans.

Through strategic partnerships with over 20 local agencies—

including the Food Bank of the Albemarle, Albemarle Hopeline, Girl Scouts, 4-H, and the YMCA—we support vital programs that address food insecurity, youth development, domestic violence prevention, and community wellness.

We are proud to introduce the Community Care Collaborative, a targeted initiative designed to provide emergency assistance to individuals and families experiencing temporary crises in Camden, Pasquotank, and Perquimans counties.

From the rice to the veggies to the fresh toppings, every layer of sushi plays a role in creating something delicious and complete.
Just like sushi, the Albemarle Area United Way brings together many layers of support—food programs, community partners, volunteers, and donors—to help ensure every neighbor has what they need to thrive. But too many families in our region still struggle to put food on the table.
Today, as we celebrate the colorful layers of our favorite sushi rolls, let’s also remember the layers of care and compassion that strengthen our community. When we support AAUW, we help fight hunger and build a healthier future for everyone.
