๐ŸŒ— Solar Eclipse!

The greatest joy we have is having the opportunity to see the world through the eyes of a child! ๐Ÿ’™

We had the best time listening to the oohs and ahhs as the kids safely watched the solar eclipse today!

๐Ÿ’™ Thank You Albemarle Area United Way, Inc for your continued support!

The Albemarle Area United Way (Bill Blake, Lorri Barrett, Holly White and Kelly Herr) presented a grant check to Elizabeth Mitchell of the Boys & Girls Club and their board members as part of our commitment to empowering youth and fostering bright futures. We are so proud of the work that the Boys and Girls club does to help make a difference in the lives of so many deserving children and teens.

๐Ÿฅ‡ Academic Success through Edmentum

Ok, but what does that mean?

Our State Alliance has made it possible for us to participate in a six-month pilot program using an online learning platform, called Edmentum.

Data indicates that academic growth is seen with use of 40-60 minutes per week per subject area for at least 8 weeks.

We are currently wrapping up reading and math assessments for all of our third graders. Once a baseline is established, kids will embark on their own learning path to master and build upon basic skills. The kids LOVE this!!! The program is complete with all the bells and whistles that make the modules exciting and interesting!

We have been using classroom space at College of The Albemarle for this, which is an added incentive since the kids like the fact that they are going to a "college" :)

๐Ÿคธโ€โ™€๏ธ Fridays are for FUN!

Mr. Jimmie is one of our STEM instructors in Elizabeth City. But we all wear more than one hat at Boys & Girls Clubs of the Albemarle and that can mean supervising outdoor play on Fridays!

It looks like supervising turned into active participant in imaginative play! If you look closely ๐Ÿ‘€ they've got Mr. Jimmie all tied up!

๐Ÿ˜† No staff was harmed on this Fun Friday.
The kids decided to set him free ๐Ÿ˜‚

Mr. Jimmie is THE BEST! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Meet Sensi Radcliffe Ranjohn ๐Ÿ‘‹

Sensi Radcliffe Ranjohn offers the opportunity for kids to explore Tae Kwon Do. But hus teachings go beyond Tae Kwon Do, he teaches discipline, patience, and respect!

โœจWe are so grateful for his time!

It's important to our mission that the children are afforded the opportunity to explore their interests and find their passion!
