🌿 Honoring Indigenous Peoples Day | Día de los Pueblos Indígenas 🇵🇷
Today, Boricuas Unidos de Elgin honors the Taíno, the Indigenous people whose history, traditions, and contributions are deeply woven into the cultural identity of Puerto Rico.
From the words we speak to the foods we share, the land we cherish, and the traditions we continue to pass down, Taíno influence remains an important part of our Boricua heritage. 🌺
Their legacy reminds us that our story began long before colonization—and that honoring our roots means continuing to learn, preserve, and celebrate the cultures and histories that shaped us.
✨ Our roots run deep. Our heritage lives on. Our story continues.
Today and every day, may we honor Indigenous peoples by recognizing their history, respecting their cultures, and uplifting their voices and living communities.
🤎 From our Boricua family to yours, we honor the ancestors, celebrate our heritage, and carry our history forward.
Boricuas Unidos de Elgin (BUE)
Celebrating our roots. Preserving our culture. Building unity.
