We did a “meal in a bag” event putting together non-perishable ingredients for a complete meal, packaged together in a bag with a recipe card.

We created close to 50 meals and dropped off at library pantries across the county.

🥫 Food pantry collection now through Thanksgiving

Non-perishable food items are being collected to support local families in McHenry County.

Main collection site:
The Community Foundation for McHenry County
33 E. Woodstock St, Crystal Lake, IL 60014
Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM

Most-requested items: canned meats, cereal, baby food, canned corn, boxed side dishes.

All contributors during this drive are included in a random name draw on December 1. One person will receive $50 in KidStuff Resale shopping credit for the April 18, 2026 event.

Thank you for the farm tour R Serenity Acres! We had a wonderful time and most of us will probably buy goats now 😂

Also thank you to everyone who came. All the kids seemed to have a blast.

Today Moms of McHenry County families showed up with ladders, gloves, boxes and bags to pick 2,181 pounds of apples, potatoes, and winter squash, pie pumpkins, broccoli, and cauliflower at Stade's Farm & Market to “Pick it Forward” for Crystal Lake Food Pantry .
This is what it looks like when families find their village and give back. 💜Thank you for all who came out!
