In honor of National Dog Day, we'd like to shout out Two Brothers Brewing Company! Not only are they pouring brews at Illinois Brews @ Bowes Creek 2026, but they're creating a limited, small-batch "Ales for Tails" b**r to support Paws For A Cause Vet Care! We'll drink to that.

This past Thursday, the Elgin Parks and Recreation Foundation was proud to present the Clif Wells Scholarship to Alaina Nolan!

Named in honor of Clif Wells, a 44-year veteran of the City of Elgin, Illinois Government who retired in 2022, the scholarship recognizes outstanding current employees who demonstrate the qualities that make a lasting impact on the parks and recreation department and community.

Alaina, a valued member of the Aquatics Team, was described by her supervisor as hardworking, proactive, and someone who helps create a positive work culture. It’s these qualities that reflect the same spirit and dedication Clif brought to the department throughout his career.

Congratulations, Alaina! We are proud to celebrate this well-deserved recognition and wish you continued success. Elgin Parks and Recreation
