🌼 Celebrating our traditions and strengthening community connections!

On October 10, members of our Centro de Información team participated in El Trote de las Calacas, a community 5K run/walk in Elgin celebrating Día de los Mu***os, cultural traditions, and community unity.

We're grateful for opportunities to connect with our community, celebrate our shared traditions, and support other organizations making a positive impact in our region.

Congratulations to our participating team members, and thank you to everyone who made this wonderful event possible! 💙

El pasado 10 de octubre, parte de nuestro equipo de Centro de Información participó en El Trote de las Calacas, una carrera/caminata de 5K en Elgin que celebra el Día de los Mu***os, nuestra cultura y la unión comunitaria.

Nos alegra participar en eventos que nos permiten conectar con nuestra comunidad, celebrar nuestras tradiciones y apoyar a otras organizaciones que trabajan por el bienestar de nuestra región.

Durante nuestros Talleres de Conexión Comunitaria y de Resiliencia de octubre, las familias participantes tendrán la oportunidad de registrar a sus hijos para nuestra distribución de regalos de diciembre.

🍂 ¡Y todavía tenemos varios talleres por venir este mes! Acompáñenos para aprender sobre transporte público, recursos para familias, prevención de estafas, acceso a recursos esenciales, resiliencia y más.

También tendremos talleres de ciudadanía y eventos donde podrá conocer si califica para SNAP (tarjeta de comida) o Medicaid.

📍 Tendremos eventos en Elgin, Carpentersville, Hanover Park, Streamwood y East Dundee.

During our October Community Connection and Resilience Workshops, participating families will have the opportunity to sign up their children for our December gift distribution.

🍂 And we still have several workshops coming up this month! Join us to learn about public transportation, family resources, scam prevention, access to essential resources, resilience, and more.

We will also offer citizenship workshops and events where you can learn if you qualify for SNAP or Medicaid.

📍 Events will take place in Elgin, Carpentersville, Hanover Park, Streamwood, and East Dundee.

Our social service organizations are the backbone of our communities, helping keep our neighbors housed, fed, and connected to the resources they need.

Centro de Información is a prime example of this important work. Last year alone, they served more than 2,000 constituents from the 25th District, providing vital support and services to families.

Thank you, State Senator Karina Villa, for visiting us at Centro de Información today! 💙

We appreciated the opportunity to share more about our work and the programs and services we provide to our community, as well as the needs we are seeing firsthand and some of the challenges organizations like ours face while serving Latino and immigrant families.

We are grateful for the opportunity to have these important conversations directly with our elected leaders and ensure that the experiences and concerns of the communities we serve are heard.
