Honored to represent Santé at Legacy at the Lakefront, celebrating 75 years of Camp Todd!

I had a wonderful time attending this special philanthropic event as part of Santé’s outreach efforts. It was a great opportunity to share the incredible work Santé does in our community, make meaningful connections, and enjoy an evening filled with fun and fellowship.

From the live music under the trees to the lakeside activities, campfire traditions, and delicious food, the night was a beautiful celebration of community and legacy. I’m grateful to have been part of such a memorable event while spreading awareness about Santé’s mission.

Empowering Youth Through Anti-Bullying Conversations

On June 10th, I had the opportunity to participate in a youth peace rally at Mace’s Lane Middle School focused on anti-bullying.

During the event, I led a breakout session titled “A Conversation Around Bullying,” where students were encouraged to give voice to an issue many young people experience. We talked about acknowledging that bullying does happen, understanding why it happens, recognizing when they are being bullied, and learning practical steps to take when it occurs.

The activity for my sessions worked especially well as I used a thumb ball with conversation starters about bullying. The students tossed the ball around and responded to the prompts, which created great participation, meaningful discussion, and a fun way for them to engage with the topic.

This event was organized by Moving Dorchester Forward along with community partner organizations, with the goal of creating a safe space for young people to connect, learn, and share.

The day was centered on helping students identify bullying behaviors, understand the impact of bullying, know what to do if they are bullied, and learn how to support others who may be experiencing it. I’m grateful to have been part of such an important conversation and inspired by the voices of the students who participated.

We’re excited to share that Santé recently trained 16 in Applied Su***de Intervention Skills Training (ASIST).

This two-day training gives participants practical, evidence-based skills to support someone experiencing suicidal thoughts.

Representatives from across the Eastern Shore, as well as Delaware and Pennsylvania, came together with one shared goal: strengthening our regions' ability to keep people safe. We are grateful for this group and their commitment to supporting those in need during their darkest moments.

A heartfelt thank-you to United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore for generously providing meeting room space for three days of ASIST training and for supporting this effort through a mini grant. Their partnership helped make this important training possible, and we’re so appreciative.

As the Eastern Shore’s primary crisis intervention resource, we know how important it is to have trained community members ready to offer su***de first-aid when it matters most. No one should ever have to walk through crisis alone. You can call Santé’s 24/7 crisis services at 1-888-407-8018—we are always there for you.

For more information about ASIST, contact Kathy at [email protected] or 301.832.6550.

Grateful for Walmart Easton’s Generous Support

A big thank-you to Walmart Easton for donating food for our May 2026 ASIST (Applied Su***de Intervention Skills Training) Over the past year, Walmart has shown meaningful commitment to this work, including a Walmart Spark Good donation in 2025 that helped sustain these vital trainings.

Because of Walmart’s continued partnership, community members and organizations from across the region were able to participate in this important, evidence-based training. Their support helps expand practical, life-saving skills for recognizing and responding to su***de risk in our community.

ASIST empowers people from all walks of life—professionals, caregivers, coworkers, neighbors, friends, and family members—to step in with confidence and compassion when someone may be at risk. By learning a shared approach to su***de first aid, we strengthen connection, communication, and care throughout the Eastern Shore.

We are sincerely grateful for community partners like Walmart who stand beside us in support of our neighbors’ wellbeing. Together, we are helping create a more caring, connected, and resilient community.

A Bold Step for ALICE Families and Mental Health

I did something bold for folks who deserve a break—thank you for cheering on and supporting! On behalf of Santé, I (Kathy Hanna) had the honor of rappelling down The Ross in downtown Salisbury to spotlight ALICE families—hardworking neighbors who earn above the poverty line but still can’t afford a basic survival budget.

At Santé Eastern Shore, we provide 24/7 mental health crisis intervention for individuals and families across the region—because no one should face their darkest moments alone. If you’re able, please consider supporting UWLES through this effort (or sharing the link) to help keep critical services available for ALICE families. https://givebutter.com/OTE2026/sante/kathyhanna1

What an inspiring time we had! ✨

We were honored to attend the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore Annual Meeting at UMES, celebrating an incredible milestone — 80 years of impact across our community. 💙💛

This year’s luncheon highlighted the partnerships and people who make lasting change possible. From dedicated volunteers to generous sponsors, it was a beautiful reminder that United is the Way!

As we reflected on eight decades of service, we also looked ahead with renewed commitment to strengthening lives across the Lower Eastern Shore. Here's to continued collaboration, compassion, and community impact!

🌟 We Have Wonderful News to Share! 🌟

Our hearts are full. Thanks to the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore (UWLES), Santé has received a generous mini grant that will help us bring ASIST su***de prevention training to Salisbury—right at the UWLES location.

This support means so much more than funding. It means our community partners will have the advanced skills, tools, and confidence to show up for people on their hardest days—with compassion, dignity, and hope. We are excited to share ASIST training with the Lower Shore!

At Santé, our mission is simple: 💛Inspire hope💛Provide quality, person centered crisis care💛Support emotional well being across our communities💛

Every day, Santé staff walk alongside individuals experiencing some of the most overwhelming and high acuity behavioral health emergencies. All of our staff are trained in ASIST as it supports us in ensuring that when someone reaches out in crisis, they are met with expert care and a human connection that truly makes a difference.

The United Way’s partnership helps us keep that mission alive and thriving on the Lower Shore. We are deeply grateful for their belief in our work and in the importance of accessible, compassionate crisis services.

Thank you, UWLES, for helping us strengthen the safety net for our friends, neighbors, and community partners!

Together, we’re making sure no one has to face a crisis alone.

💛✨ Hope lives here—because of supporters like you. ✨💛
