A van full of toys and a whole lot of holiday cheer! 🎁💚

Earlier this month, The Good Toy Group generously donated a huge collection of toys to Foster Forward, helping us get a head start on making the holidays special for young people and families in our programs.

A big thank you as well to Senators Alana DiMario and Bridget Valverde, who joined members of the Foster Forward team to help load everything into our van.

These toys will make a tremendous difference during the holiday season, and we are so grateful to The Good Toy Group for thinking of our community!

A huge thank you to Onli Travel for donating 177 travel bags to Foster Forward for young people in our programs.

As Onli Travel closes this chapter, they wanted these bags to go somewhere they could make a difference. And they will. These bags can hold an amazing amount, giving young people a practical way to carry their clothes, essentials, and belongings wherever life takes them next.

🏠 What does it really take to build affordable housing in Rhode Island?

Foster Forward Executive Director Lisa Guillette and Crossroads Rhode Island President & CEO Michelle Wilcox recently came together to share their perspective in a new Providence Journal op-ed on the rising costs of developing affordable housing.

Drawing from their organizations’ firsthand experience creating housing for Rhode Islanders, Lisa and Michelle explore the financial realities behind affordable housing development and why understanding those costs matters as our state works to address its housing crisis.

What an incredible night! 💚

More than 420 guests joined us at the WaterFire Arts Center for Foster Forward’s Roots & Wings Gala, and together we raised a record-breaking $430,000 to support young people impacted by foster care.

We were especially honored to welcome Providence College Men’s Basketball Head Coach Bryan Hodgson, who joined us for the evening and shared a few words with our guests.

This year’s Roots & Wings theme celebrated what we hope every young person can have: strong roots built through stability, connection, and belonging, and the wings to pursue the future they choose.

A very special thank you to our Gala Chair and Foster Forward Board Member Lauren Waterson for the tremendous time, energy, and heart she poured into this year’s event. We are also grateful to our emcee Tiffanie Desrosiers, our auctioneer Thomas Stebbins, and Foster Forward alumnus Austin Coppinger for helping make the evening so memorable.

We are deeply grateful to our Presenting Sponsor, Waterson Terminal Services, and our Platinum Sponsors, The Annie E. Casey Foundation and Ocean State Job Lot, for their extraordinary commitment to Foster Forward and the young people we serve.
