Join us on Saturday, January 31, from 9 to 11:30 AM for a Waterfowl Safari along the shores of Vineyard Sound.

Birding enthusiast Molly Cornell will take us to the best spots for viewing wintering ducks, mergansers, and geese in the salt water inlets that lace the shore of Vineyard Sound. We’ll also search for loons, grebes, rafts of sea ducks and whatever else is out there.

Meet in the parking lot at the entrance to Falmouth Harbor on the east side (Falmouth Yacht Club side). We’ll carpool from there to several birding hot spots, depending on where the water is open.

Birders of all ages and experience levels are welcome! Dress for the weather. Bring water, a snack, and binoculars and/or telescope if you have them. Driving rain, sleet or snow will cancel.

Join us tomorrow, January 1, in celebrating the New Year with a refreshing woodland walk. Starting at 1 PM, guides will lead several walks through the extensive trail network of Beebe Woods.

Hikes vary in length and intensity, from a short stroll along wide, flat trails, to longer hikes through hilly woodland. Families welcome! Please leave dogs at home.

Parking is in the trailhead lot at the top of Highfield Drive in Falmouth.

If you've resolved in 2026 to (1) get more exercise, (2) connect with nature, and (3) get more involved in your community, then this event is the perfect trifecta! Don't let the cold and wind stop you, just bundle up.

If programs and rewards motivate you, consider signing up for our 300-mile challenge. Hike 100, 200 or 300 miles in Falmouth's conservation lands and receive commemorative pins and a f***y pack. (Of course, the real rewards are the many physical and mental benefits of walking in natural lands.) We also have a children's version where kids hike their age in miles and get a free book or ice cream cone!
