Tiny workers, big impact 🐝🌼

Our bees at The Patch are hard at work pollinating crops, supporting biodiversity, and helping the farm thrive one flower at a time.

Watching the hive come to life has been such a beautiful reminder that healthy farms depend on healthy ecosystems—and that even the smallest creatures play a huge role in local food systems.

Tonight, there is a wonderful community event at Woodwell Climate Research Center for one of their Conversations to explore how regional and local agriculture can maximize climate benefits while minimizing environmental impacts. From soil health to supply chains, we’ll discuss how regenerative practices can deliver better outcomes for farmers, ecosystems, and communities, and how diet, policy, and markets shape the climate footprint of what we eat.

Andrew Woodruff has been farming on Martha’s Vineyard for 44 years. He is the owner of Whippoorwill Farm in West Tisbury and has served as Island Grown Initiative’s Regenerative Farming Consultant for the past four years. Andrew is passionate about the power and potential of regenerative farming, and has seen firsthand how soil health-focused practices impact farms, farmers, and the food they grow.

This event will be offered both in-person and virtually, please register in advance:

Amazing community members like Drew and Beth have been helping care for the farm using our new electric mower—equipment we were able to purchase thanks to volunteer and community support.

Every helping hand, every donated hour, and every contribution helps us keep growing stronger, more sustainable, and more connected as a community 💚

Homestead Hangout is back 🌿🔥

Join us on June 12 & June 19 for our monthly Homestead Hangouts, held every 2nd and 3rd Friday at the farm.

We gather potluck-style around the cob oven to share food, conversation, and community as the sun goes down. Bring a dish, bring a friend, or just bring yourself—we’d love to have you.

Farming Falmouth is proud to support the Nature for Massachusetts campaign, and we have pledged to gather 100 local signatures to help push this vital initiative forward. We strongly believe that Massachusetts must do more to protect its precious waterways, open spaces, and invaluable farmland from overdevelopment.

We need your help to reach our goal! Stop by the Farming Falmouth booth at the Falmouth Farmers Market this Thursday between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM at the Falmouth Marina to add your name to the petition. It only takes a moment, but your signature will help ensure our natural spaces are preserved for generations to come.
