Tonight, there is a wonderful community event at Woodwell Climate Research Center for one of their Conversations to explore how regional and local agriculture can maximize climate benefits while minimizing environmental impacts. From soil health to supply chains, we’ll discuss how regenerative practices can deliver better outcomes for farmers, ecosystems, and communities, and how diet, policy, and markets shape the climate footprint of what we eat.
Andrew Woodruff has been farming on Martha’s Vineyard for 44 years. He is the owner of Whippoorwill Farm in West Tisbury and has served as Island Grown Initiative’s Regenerative Farming Consultant for the past four years. Andrew is passionate about the power and potential of regenerative farming, and has seen firsthand how soil health-focused practices impact farms, farmers, and the food they grow.
