4CORE

Fall in Southwest Colorado is a reminder of just how special the place we call home really is.

At 4CORE, our work is rooted in strengthening the communities and environment around us. From helping households improve energy efficiency to supporting clean transportation, we’re working toward a more resilient future for the region….Because there’s a lot worth protecting right here at home.

What does 4CORE actually do?

Our work is rooted in helping Southwest Colorado communities become more energy efficient, resilient, and prepared for the future.

From connecting households with energy-saving resources and rebates to advancing clean transportation and building strong local partnerships, 4CORE works across the region to turn resources into real community impact.

Each program may look different, but the goal remains the same: creating practical solutions that strengthen the places we call home.
This is what community-powered impact looks like.

Just over a year ago, Erika joined us in the new role of Regional Energy Coach for La Plata and Archuleta counties. And WOW - there has been demand!

The first year by the numbers:
🏠 150+ households and businesses coached
🔍 100+ energy assessments
💵 At least $200,000 in rebates coming back into our community (We'll get out a full tally at the end of the year!)

That money has helped many of you lower your utility bills and cool your homes this (HOT!) summers without worrying about wildfire smoke.

In her latest The Durango Herald column, Erika reflects on the past year and thanks you all for welcoming her in.

📍 Have a project in mind? Join Erika and La Plata Electric Association (LPEA) this Wednesday, Oct. 7, for Rebate & Energy Help Office Hours at LPEA Headquarters, 8–9:30 a.m. or 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. Swing by anytime in those windows to find out what incentives are available to get your questions answered.

A big thanks to Energy Smart Colorado for bringing all the amazing partners together and for standing up a program that is helping rural households make their homes more affordable, comfortable, efficient! We've done more energy assessments in 2026 than ever before and we can't wait to tally the impacts!

Another great year of bringing our Energy Smart Colorado partners together for our annual Partner Summit.😊

We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect, share ideas, celebrate the work we’re doing across Colorado, and strengthen the partnerships that help us better serve our communities.

A big thank you to our incredible partners - traveling from communities across the western slope - for continuing to show up, collaborate, and help make energy efficiency and electrification more accessible for Colorado households.🤝🏔️

Here’s to another year of learning, collaboration, and making a positive impact together!

New investments in EV charging infrastructure are helping address critical gaps across the state—including communities within the ReCharge Colorado service territory.

From Ignacio and Saguache to Alamosa, Poncha Springs, Grand Junction and beyond, these projects are helping build a more connected charging network for Coloradans traveling across our state.

For rural communities, expanding charging infrastructure can mean more options, better connectivity, and greater confidence for current and future EV drivers. 🚙⚡

We’re excited to see continued investment in clean transportation infrastructure across Colorado!
