Did you know that August 17 was National Nonprofit Day?

The Tariff Act of 1894 was passed on August 17th. This is what provided federal income tax exemptions for charitable and nonprofit organizations.

We are a couple of days late, but it's never late to say THANK YOU to all of the incredible nonprofit organizations that support Chautauqua County residents.

Happy National Nonprofit Day!

Today, we're pausing to say thank you. To every nonprofit in northern Chautauqua County that shows up for our community, day in and day out.

We could not do the work we do, or have the impact we have, without the support, dedication, and partnership of our community's nonprofits. No matter the season, no matter the obstacles, northern Chautauqua County nonprofits get it done. It's truly amazing the amount of love, support, and quality-of-life improvements our partners bring to our community.

From food pantries to youth programs, environmental stewards to affordable housing advocates, animal welfare to our aging population, you are the heartbeat of northern Chautauqua County. At NCCF, we're honored to work alongside you, and we're grateful every single day for the relationships and collaboration that make this work possible.

We were deeply honored to welcome New York State Senator George M. Borrello, who presented the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation with an official New York State Senate Proclamation celebrating our 40 years of dedicated service to northern Chautauqua County!

Since our founding in 1986, NCCF has invested nearly $25 million in our community through strategic grantmaking, scholarships, and collaborative leadership. Today, our assets stand at over $50 million, all in service of building a vibrant and more prosperous northern Chautauqua County.

As we look to the future, our "Today, Tomorrow, Together" campaign aims to raise $10 million and establish 50 new community funds to expand our grantmaking for generations to come.
