It has taken a lot of back and forth with Aspirus, but negotiation dates for St. Luke's Hospital and Chequamegon Clinic are finally on the calendar! On June 24, we'll have our first negotiation session for hospital tech workers. And on June 25, we'll have our first negotiation session for the Chequamegon Clinic. Contract talks for the newly unionized IT workers are ongoing, and they'll have their next negotiations session on June 23. Things are finally underway, so stay tuned for our initial updates, which should be coming out towards end of the month!

Good evening Redbook members. We wanted to let you know that we took all of Tuesday to carefully go over each and every concern brought to our attention. We worked very hard to create economic proposals to address each issue you identified in the survey. We started off Wednesday morning by presenting all 32 of our economic proposals. Thursday was spent working on counter proposals to Essentia’s opening economic package as well as providing clarifying information on our economic package. We are currently waiting on Essentia to counter our economic proposals expected at the beginning of the day Tuesday June 16th. We continue to thank you for your solidarity and support.

Shout out to our local union's Next Gen committee, which collected over 2000 children's books! The books they collected will be going into the waiting rooms of pediatric departments of area healthcare facilities. Some facilities have been cutting their funding for these sorts of things, so the Next Gen committee is trying to fill that vacuum to help make sure the visit of young patients and their families as pleasant as possible.

Thank you to everyone who turned out for last week's Aspirus and Essentia Red Book BBQ&A at the Labor Temple! We shared some good food, solidarity and news about how contract negotiations are going. Red Book negotiations will be starting up again tomorrow (Tuesday, June 9). Unfortunately, Aspirus tech negotiations have yet to start. We almost had a date nailed down but now the employer is looking to change it. Stay tuned. We'll let you know as soon as something is on the calendar.
