Kudos to USW Local 9460's Next Gen committee, which collected over 2000 children's books! The books they collected will be going into the waiting rooms of pediatric departments of area healthcare facilities. Some facilities have been cutting their funding for these sorts of things, so the Next Gen committee is trying to fill that vacuum to help make sure the visit of young patients and their families as pleasant as possible.

Contract negotiations are underway between USW Local 9460 and Essentia Health. At issue is the contract covering the 800 tech workers at Essentia's facilities in the Twin Ports.

The union is calling on all workers covered by the Red Book contract to display union signs in their parked cars on May 18. You can get a car sign from either your union steward, a member of the CAT (Communication & Action Team) or at the Local 9460 office in the Labor Temple.

These car signs are part of an escalating series of actions the union is organizing. Be sure to get your co-workers involved! We're all in this together ~ solidarity gets results!
