Hundreds of demonstrators, mostly union members, rallied and marched through the streets of Minneapolis on Saturday, Oct. 3. The march was a show of support for 15 political activists who were indicted earlier this year by Donald Trump’s Justice Department for their organized opposition to the ICE assault on the Twin Cities known as Operation Metro Surge.

Thank you to everyone who turned out this past Saturday for our Defend the MN 15 event at the Duluth Labor Temple. Cal Robinet, a union electrician from the Twin Cities and one of the 15 activists facing Federal charges for organizing against ICE, shared a powerful account of his arrest, but also of the solidarity that the MN 15 have received from labor and broader community. We plan on holding ongoing events to plan local solidarity efforts with the MN 15. If you'd like to be kept in the loop about them, DM us. And be sure to follow the defense campaign at Minnesota 15!

Just a reminder that this Saturday one of the Minnesota 15 will be coming to Duluth to talk about their case. This is an important case that we urge folks to be aware of and to support. The MN 15 are a group of immigrant solidarity and labor activists who are facing bogus felony charges for organizing against ICE. They urgently need our support! The event will be at 2pm in Hall B of the Duluth Labor Temple. The easiest way to get to the meeting room is to enter the building through the door that faces Lake Superior. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table at the Duluth Labor Day fest yesterday! We had a lot of great conversations and got out a lot of fliers for our upcoming Sept. 19 event on the Minnesota 15. Between now and then we're getting fliers and online notices distributed far and wide. If you're able to help, reach out and we'll get you either some paper fliers or a digital graphic to share.

Remembering and honoring Dolly Parton:

Dolly Parton knew what it was like to struggle as she fought for working families her whole career. From providing free books to kids to giving working women our "9 to 5" anthem, she was an icon and an inspiration.

Congrats to the teachers at Rock Ridge! It's been a long, hard battle.

Yesterday NEALC stood on the the sidewalk of the Rock Ridge administration building in support of our union teachers that have been without a contract for 407 days! I'm happy to report that after negotiations yesterday they have a Tentative Agreement (TA)!! Solidarity is a lifestyle!
