Dover Shockwave Robotics is a FIRST FRC team at Dover High School, Dover New Hampshire. The mission of Shockwave is to provide students with the opportunity to have ridiculous amounts of fun while building life long skills. Our students learn the principles of Mechanical, Electrical and Program design, and extensive use of hand and power tools. Every year we design and build our robot entry into t

he First Robotics Competition. Our robots are built by students! Team members support FLL Junior, FLL, and FTC teams. They also volunteer for community activities and mentor new FRC teams. Gracious Professionalism informs all that we do. If you're looking for more information, have any questions, or want to contact the team, please e-mail us at [email protected]

🚨 The 2025 Annual Blue Collar Report is here! 🚨

With rising costs, shaky job markets, and AI changing everything, more families are asking: What does real job security look like?

This year’s report shows a growing belief among Gen Z and their parents that the trades are a smart, stable choice. But old-school views and low awareness are still keeping most students stuck in a college-first mindset 🤔

Read the full report here: https://getjobber.com/bluecollarreport?utm_source=organic-social&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=bcr-2025

The future is hands-on, and the trades deserve the spotlight.

📊 A few highlights:
🔹 Only 16% of Gen Z’s parents believe a college degree guarantees long-term job security
🔹 77% of Gen Z want a career that’s tough to automate
🔹 72% of Gen Z parents have talked to their kids about how automation could impact their careers
🔹 But only 7% say they’d prefer their kid to go into the trades—old perceptions are still winning out

Let’s show Gen Z that the trades aren’t backup plans. They’re a path to security and success!

*We’re tracking post shares until September 30!
