๐ŸŒฟ Help Us Keep Our Watershed Clean!

The Great Bay Chapter of Trout Unlimited (GBTU) is hitting the roadโ€”literally! Weโ€™ve adopted a stretch of RT 125 in Barrington that runs right through the beautiful Bellamy River Wetland Preserve. This area is vital to our Great Bay Watershed and home to wild brook trout populations. ๐ŸŸ

We need your help to ensure trash stays out of our waterways and off our roads!

When: Saturday, June 20, 2026 @ 8:00 AM

Where: Meet at the public parking lot near the intersection of RT 9 & RT 125.

Route: Southbound side of RT 125 to Newtown Plains Rd (~3 miles).

Duration: Expect about 4 hours.

๐ŸŽ’ What to Bring:
We will provide garbage bags, high-visibility vests, and gloves.

Please come prepared with:
Water & snacks
Sun and bug protection
Long sleeves, pants, and sturdy, closed-toe footwear

๐Ÿ‘• Huge Shoutout to Rocky Coast Printworks! ๐ŸŒŠ
River Day 2026 is just around the corner, and we are incredibly excited to announce that Rocky Coast Printworks is officially on board as a sponsor!

But they didn't just stop at sponsoring the eventโ€”they are also generously sponsoring and printing all of our volunteer t-shirts this year! ๐ŸŽจโœจ

Our volunteers are the backbone of River Day, and thanks to Rocky Coast Printworks, our team is going to look sharp, unified, and ready to make a difference. We couldn't do this without local businesses that step up to support their community.

Want to see their amazing work in action? Keep an eye out for our volunteers in their custom tees on River Day!

Join us in giving them a massive thank you in the comments below, and be sure to check out Coast Printworks for all your own custom apparel and printing needs.

Eric Roach - American Shad Fishing

Come learn about an incredible, underutilized, world-class fishery right here in our region! Eric will discuss fishing the exciting spring run of American shad in the Merrimack River. His focus will be on fishing the lower Merrimack, from Essex Dam in Lawrence to the mouth of the river. He'll cover specific locations, best times, rod & line choices, flies, presentation techniques and other important shad-fishing nuances.

Eric will also discuss the burgeoning American shad restoration program currently underway in the Great Bay watershed.

Eric has been fishing for American shad in New England for over thirty years. He is an Advisory Panel member for the ASMFC Shad & River Herring Management board.
