Work hard, play hard, & if you’re no longer a spring chicken then you REST HARD afterwards!! At this point, recovery time is a no- brainer and if you do it right, it is a full event with snacks, blankets, maybe a little Netflix, and sometimes naps! 😆

Sometimes we form opinions about people without knowing the story behind what we see. The effects of abuse can look very different from one person to another...some may withdraw, some may struggle, and others may appear strong or unaffected. When we judge too quickly, we may miss an opportunity to offer support, understanding, or help. Pause. Listen. Be compassionate. You never know what someone may be carrying.

Victim Advocates wear a lot of hats — and we mean a lot. 💜
On any given day at Hope Center, we might be answering the crisis line at 2am, sitting with a client through safety planning, filing protective orders, driving someone to court, restocking shelter groceries, installing safety equipment for a client, and so much more not even listed above….all before dinner.

It’s not glamorous. It’s not always visible. But it’s tireless work, and it changes lives.
To all advocates nationwide, who show up again and again for survivors and our communities ….THANK YOU. Together we make a difference!💜🩵💛

Sometimes life isn’t going well and we find ourselves in the weeds. But just look at our resilience, we keep surviving things we didn’t even sign up for!! I think that deserves some applause don’t you?👏🏻
