Our Story

The Kings Portion was founded April 7, 2011. We are a non profit organization that is dedicated to providing food to the hungry in our community. We collect and distribute food such as cereals, canned goods, boxed diners, breads, snacks and other food items to those in need on a bimonthly basis. All food items are given at NO COST.

Another service we provide to the community is a weekly Blessings in a Backpack program. This provides non perishable food for children in need at the end of each week. Bags of food are placed discreetly into the child’s backpack and sent home with them for the weekend. We offer this program to all Douglas schools including rural schools and Head Start.

We are located at 1954 E. Richards St in the Madora Plaza.

We are open the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month from 4:45-7:00 pm.
