πŸ“’ Listen up friends,❗️

We have a situation here at Animal Outreach, and it's time we talked about it.

It's kitten season, and we get it. The tiny tigers are adorable. They're fluffy, chaotic, & somehow convince everyone they're the main characters. But while everyone is busy swooning over the babies, the real MVPs are getting overlooked.

We're talking about the mama cats.

These little ladies know exactly what Reba meant when she said, β€œa single mom who works two jobs, who loves her kids & never stops, with gentle hands & a heart of a fighter. I’m a survivor!”

These queens survived life on the streets, carried & delivered their babies, protected them, fed them, taught them how to cat, AND then watched them steal all the attention. Sound familiar, moms? πŸ‘€

Now their parenting days are officially behind them. The kids are grown, the daycare is closed, & these ladies are ready for retirement. They aren't looking for another job, they're looking for a comfy couch, endless snacks, & someone who thinks they're the center of the universe for a change.

Seriously, these mamas have earned the deluxe retirement package. Yet here they sit, waiting for someone to sweep them off their paws & give them the happily-ever-after they've worked so hard for πŸ‘‘

We love our kittens, but let's be honest, without these incredible moms, there wouldn't be any tiny tigers to obsess over in the first place.

So, who's ready to adopt a retired mama & give her the pampered life she deserves?! πŸ’šπŸ’œ

A huge thank you to World's Best Cat Litter and their Give Litter program for generously supplying cat litter for the cats in our shelter! πŸΎπŸ’š

For many cats, arriving at a shelter can be overwhelming and frightening. It's common for newly admitted cats to seek comfort by hiding in their litter boxes while they adjust to their new surroundings. That's why we're especially grateful for a litter that is not harmful if cats spend extra time in close contact with it during this transition period.

Your support helps us provide a safe, comfortable environment for cats when they need it most, giving them a little extra security as they settle in and begin their journey toward a loving home. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of shelter cats every day! 🐱

❗Next Wednesday❗
July's Free Feral Day is scheduled for Wednesday, July 1st. This Feral Day is made possible by your Giving Tuesday donations πŸ’œ

Our Free Feral Spay & Neuter Day's are for feral, community cats of El Dorado County. We are booking 75 spots but are allowing walk-ins (to offset the amount of appointments that were not able to trap their cats) until those 75 spots are indeed filled. 🐾

This program is based solely on sponsorships & donations. We need support from people like you in order to keep this community resource available.

You can donate to this fund by following the link here πŸ‘‡
πŸ”—https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/b49be15e-084d-4b94-b2c5-213bc9952bba
**You can select "Other" from the fee selection & enter "0" to avoid paying additional fees**

If you do not get an official appointment, you still have the chance to walk-in with your trapped feral cat, & could get a spay/neuter slot that day until we have filled those 75 spots.
Those with appointments should arrive with their feral cat between 7 & 10am, walk-ins hoping to get a spot should arrive at 9:45am, Wednesday, July 1st.
*Walk-ins are not guaranteed to get a spot.

All cats will receive a spay/neuter, rabies vaccination and a mandatory ear notch.

It's unfortunately that time of year again...where all the beautiful mommas sit in our shelter, being overlooked, while their kittens get swooped up and adopted before you can even blink 😒

Looking for a loyal companion with a touch of diva energy? πŸ’…πŸ½
This stunning girl is Dialga. She's 5 and half years young and came to Animal Outreach in April along with her two kittens after being found surviving in a warehouse. Both her kittens found their loving homes over a month ago while Dialga is still waiting. She's confident, curious, and just a little dramatic. Whether she's ruling the windowsill, chasing toys, or demanding attention, your life would never be boring with Dialga around.

She's available for meet and greets at our main shelter in Diamond Springs. Stop by any time during our business hours to meet her πŸ’œ

πŸ’š Monday Morning Adoption Update πŸ’œ

Beautiful Pina Colada came to Animal Outreach after being rescued from a hoarding situation which left her with anxiety issues which included heavily over grooming herself. Lucky for her, she was adopted by a lovely couple with many years of cat ownership under their belts who were willing to give her all the extra patience and care she needed to adjust to being in a healthy, loving environment. This is what her new owners had to say...

"We adopted a cat named Pina Colada from you on 3/5/26. We were not interested in a Siamese but a woman who worked at your facility said in passing she could not believe Pina Colada had not been adopted. We never saw this woman again but wish we could thank her.
We have been cat owners for 30 years and have had some great cats, but Pina Colada is one of the best. She prefers my husband which has never been the case so we are grateful.
Thank you for allowing us to adopt this wonderful kitty. She had her first vet visit today and she is super healthy!"

We'd love to hear your adoption updates! You can also join our Animal Outreach Alumni Facebook group and share your pictures and see other stories of how AO's alumni are doing in their homes πŸ’š

🐾 Community support makes all the difference. 🐾

We are incredibly grateful to Wilkinson Portables Inc for their generous donation of temporary construction fencing for our shelter expansion project!

As we work toward creating a larger, improved facility to better serve the animals within El Dorado County and surrounding areas, having a safe and secure construction site is essential. Thanks to Wilkinson Portables' generosity, we can move forward with confidence during this exciting phase of growth.

Partnerships like this remind us how fortunate we are to live in a community that cares deeply about animals in need. We sincerely thank Wilkinson Portables for stepping up to support our mission and helping bring this vision to life.

We look forward to sharing our progress and celebrating the positive impact this expansion will have for years to come. Thank you, Wilkinson Portables, for being part of our journey! πŸ’œπŸˆβ€β¬›πŸ•
