Our first-years have been BUSY this week with touring campus, getting competitive at Basket Bingo and Field Day, cheering on the Tigers, and ending the nights with some serious Game Night energy.

All September long, is celebrating the people, ideas, and creativity shaping our city, and CCS is getting in on the action. 👀

From Fridays at the Station and Design Jam to exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and events featuring CCS students, faculty, and alumni, there’s a LOT to explore.

This , we're featuring Sassafras by Interdisciplinary Art + Design junior Basil Zaviski, a mid-century modern-inspired wall relief made from wood and featured in the .

One major, a whole lot of possibilities. In Interdisciplinary Art + Design, students can mix mediums, explore new ideas, and build a creative path that’s uniquely theirs, as Basil has done!

This , we're shining a light on Red Winglet by 1995 Crafts alum April Wagner, featured in the 2026 Re/View: CCS Alumni Exhibition.

Made from hand-blown glass, April's work is a perfect example of how a little heat, a lot of skill, and a whole lot of creativity can turn glass into something extraordinary.

Today, April is a Master Glassblower and the owner of Epiphany Studios, creating everything from vessels and lighting to large-scale, site-specific sculptures.

This , check out these leather boots designed by Fashion Accessories Design junior, Bryce Truby. They were a part of their Junior Year Collection "A Beginner's Guide To Becoming", featured in the .

At CCS, Fashion Accessories Design students create everything from footwear to handbags, turning bold ideas into wearable works of art, as Bryce has done here by combining leather craftsmanship with metal hardware.

This , we're featuring Detached Factory by 2001 Ceramics alum Sean Evans( ), part of the 2026 Re/View: CCS Alumni Exhibition.

Created from terra cotta, Sean's work reflects his lifelong connection to clay and craftsmanship, a journey that began right here in Detroit and continued through his studies at CCS. Now, Sean is giving back to the next generation of makers as a ceramics instructor at CCS.
