It is always an honor to serve our community, and we are grateful for our partnership with the Detroit Area Agency on Aging, which spans over 25 years. Without their support, many older adults in our community would not have access to warm meals, especially during the holidays. We are happy to provide these meals with a warm heart and appreciate the opportunity to do so.

We had an extraordinary evening at Farmington Community Library’s Fireside Chat with Angeline Boulley, the author of DetroitReads!'s selection, 'Firekeeper's Daughter.' A special thanks to for providing us the platform to engage in meaningful discussions about stories that amplify and empower minority voices.

Mary Church Terrell (1863-1954) worked as an activist alongside the likes of Ida B. Wells to bring suffrage and civil rights to Black American women. She saw the right to vote as a catalyst for elevating Black women. Her words-"Lifting as we climb"-became the motto of the National Association of Colored Women (NACW), the group she helped found in 1896. She was NACW president from 1896 to 1901.
Today, we honor Mary Eliza Church Terrell on her birthday for her passion, drive and victories during the civil rights movement.
