The league has been notified by the 8th Precinct of a "Teen Takeover" event at Stoepel Park on Saturday, June 6 starting at 3. For this reason, several adjustments are being made:
The ticket exchange for Sunday's Detroit Tigers game will still be at Stoepel, but the time has been moved to 1. As advised in yesterday's update, network within your teams and divisions to negotiate exchanges if you can in the meantime.
Morning games scheduled for Stoepel will take place as usual. Junior and Senior games will be rescheduled.
This Saturday's girls softball tryouts are cancelled, but there will be practice tonight and tomorrow night at Stoepel from 6-8 p.m. Anyone interested in the 12U and 14U PAL softball teams should contact Lindsey Barrett at (313)207-3696.
The 10U PAL team tryouts, also scheduled for Saturday at Stoepel, will be moved to North Rosedale from 3-5.

Hello Minor Baseball Families -

Most seasons our league sponsors teams to play in the Detroit Police Athletic League (PAL). Matt and Rebecca Banks have volunteered to handle our 10U team. Please see their message below.

The selection of coaches and players for the 10U team is entirely up to Matt and Rebecca. Our Minors Division managers are encouraged to recommend players who have demonstrated skills and commitment throughout our season.

Ken

Hello Coaches and Parents!
We are happy to announce that RGBL will field a Summer PAL 10U team! We will hold a practice/tryout session this weekend for interested players: Saturday, 6/6, at 3:30 pm at Stoepel Park on the minors

The season begins after RGBL ends, but we want to set our team roster well ahead of time to ensure we have time to organize and practice. RGBL will cover players' registration fees while parents are expected to cover the uniform fees -- about $80, IIRC. If this fee presents a barrier to your child's participation, please let us know.

For those new to PAL, it's a quick season—about 6 weeks—with two to three games every week around the Metro area. We may participate in a weekend tournament, depending on team interest and readiness. We'll have more specifics on the start date and practice/game schedule in the coming weeks but now is the time to let us know if your child is interested so we can determine the number of players.

If your child cannot attend this session but is still interested in participating, please let me know. I'm happy to answer any additional questions on the league or our approach and goals for the season. For those of you who may not know us, our kids have played RGBL for several years. This season, Elliott is on the Minor Giants and Aaron is on the Junior Tigers.

Looking forward to seeing you on the field!

Detroit Tigers/RGBL game date. The new date is Sunday, June 7. We are grateful for the Tigers organization's generosity in giving our league tickets as well as the opportunity for our players to participate in the pre-game on-field parade.

Tigers tickets will be distributed to our managers. There will be enough for every manager and player to receive two tickets. Come to the pavilion at Stoepel Saturday June 6 (3-4 pm) if you have extra tickets or need more. Above all, WE NEED TO MAKE SURE EVERY TICKET IS USED so that we get as many or more free tickets for future Tigers games and access to clinics and other Tigers events.
