Today, we celebrate the hearts that raised us, the hands that held us, and the love that shaped who we are. Mothers are more than caregivers, they are our first teachers, our fiercest protectors, and the quiet strength behind our every step forward.

Whether by birth, by choice, or through love alone, a mother’s impact is immeasurable. She gives without asking, believes without doubt, and loves without end.

Let today be a reminder to honor the sacrifices, the sleepless nights, and the countless ways our mothers have shown up for us. Let’s carry their wisdom, their resilience, and their love forward in everything we do.

To all the moms, grandmothers, stepmoms, mother figures, we thank you. We see you. We love you!

Meet our wonderful Nurse Andrea with one of our most adorable little ones, Purposed! Andrea, our dedicated nurse in the Next Generation Maternal & Infant Program, truly embodies what it means to care for others. She brings compassion and advocacy to every family, taking the time to support each one with heartfelt dedication. We’re beyond grateful for Andrea!

Purposed and her mom have been part of our program since 2023, and it’s such an honor to be part of their journey!

Sending abundant blessings and heartfelt congratulations to Destini! She and her beautiful daughter are part of our Next Generation Maternal & Infant Program, where our amazing Social Workers, Registered Nurses and Postpartum Doula provide supportive and educational services to families.

She recently said “I do” and married her fiancé, now husband! ❤️

In addition to this wonderful milestone, she recently earned her nursing degree and is now preparing for her NCLEX exam.

It’s triumphant stories like Destini’s that bring immense joy to our team at BOHL Outreach!

God bless you and your new family, Destini. We’re praying for your success on the upcoming exam!

Thank you to our incredible community partner, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, for making it possible to launch our mental health support groups this year! Through this funding, we’ve been able to offer support to both men and women as they navigate the challenges of parenthood, relationships, emotions, finances, and goal-setting. We even provided transportation and Doula services to ensure everyone had what they needed.

Strangers walked in but left as family! We’re excited to kick off our 2nd cohort with our wonderful friends at COTS, expanding our services to the children.

BOHL Outreach's paternal and maternal support groups helped people like Brian Lee learn how to cope with the stressors of being a partner and parent. Lee hesitated to attend sessions at first, but he's glad he did, for multiple reasons.

It was a privilege and an honor to partner with the City of Detroit Health Department in facilitating a grief and loss support group.

Grief touches us all, each of us encountering loss in different ways. While it is a natural part of life, the journey toward healing is the ultimate goal.

In this class, we embraced art as a powerful tool to cope with our pain, using creativity to express and process our deepest emotions.

Thank you City of Detroit Health Department for trusting BOHL outreach to help navigate these waters. We pray that this class was one of the many steps that the participants will take towards their healing.
