Attention!

Our good friend Alan Stein, Jr., a former basketball performance coach, is passionate about providing the parents/coaches of youth and high school athletes with practical tools to develop a winner’s mindset and level up their mental skills, resilience, and self-talk.

On Thursday, September 24 at 7pm EST, he’s teaming up with the Mental Edge Academy for a free 45-minute live webinar to do just that… equip parents and coaches to better understand mindset and true mental toughness.

Attendees will receive a free mindset toolkit and an exclusive discount on MEA courses/programs.

And thats a wrap on Summer #1 of Pro Skills Basketball Detroit! We took some bumps along the way, but we learned a lot and improved so much by the end of the season.

To close out the Summer, some of the guys from our 7th and 8th grade teams celebrated with a end of the year party. After that, I had the opportunity to attend my first PSB Summit in Denver. The experience was inspiring and empowering!

I’m so grateful for the families who trusted me with their athletes, for all of the lessons learned, and the support I’ve had from my family, coach and the PSB organization.

I’m trying to make an impact on my community and pour into the next generation the same way my AAU coaches invested in me.

We’ll be back in the Fall and I can’t wait for the future of PSB in Detroit. Let’s keep building!!!

Parents, choosing a basketball skills trainer is one of the more consequential decisions in your player's development, and a lot of parents make it based on Instagram followers. We have watched young players work with great trainers and bad ones for years. Our new post breaks down what tends to separate the two. The right credentials. The questions to ask. The red flags to walk away from. proskillsbasketball.com/how-to-choose-basketball-skills-trainer/

To every basketball dad who shows up: thank you. 🙏

For the driveway shooting sessions that ran past dinner. The rebounds you grabbed for hours without complaining. The post-game car rides where you knew when to talk and when to just let the music play. The lessons that had nothing to do with basketball and everything to do with becoming a good person.

You're your kid's first coach, biggest fan, and toughest critic, sometimes all in the same afternoon. And they notice. Even when they don't say it.

Today is yours. Happy Father's Day from the entire PSB family. 💛

Parents of high school players, shooting is the skill that tends to separate serious recruits from everyone else. We just updated our D1-level shooter workout. The volume, the form work, the situational reps, the tracking. The kind of work many of our college players have put in during their high school summers. proskillsbasketball.com/basketball-shooting-workouts-to-become-a-d1-level-shooter/

06/16/2026

Parents, here is the truth about shooting development. The players who become great shooters are not usually the ones who go to the most camps. They are the ones who put up the most reps. And those reps mostly happen at home. Our new post lays out at-home shooting workouts for youth players. Driveway. Garage. Park. Anywhere there is a hoop. proskillsbasketball.com/at-home-basketball-shooting-workouts/

One thing we talk about at PSB is Maxim 6: show appreciation. Not just when things go well. When a coach puts in extra time, when a teammate covers for you, when a parent drives an hour to a tournament, those moments matter. Youth basktball moves fast. Players who slow down long enough to notice and say thank you tend to be the one’s coaches remember. That’s the player we’re building at PSB.

If you want your player in that environment this spring, fill out our interest form at proskillsbasketball.com/teams.
