We remember Hana St. Juliana, Justin Shilling, Madisyn Baldwin, and Tate Myre.

Hana St. Juliana, 14, made her high school debut for Oxford High’s basketball team the night before she was killed. Her father described her as “one of the happiest and most joyful kids.”

Justin Shilling, 17, was a senior, and co-captain of Oxford High School's bowling team this season. His co-workers at a local restaurant remembered him as “simply a pleasure to be around.”

Madisyn Baldwin, 17, was expected to graduate this year and had already been accepted to several colleges, some with full scholarships. She was the eldest of three siblings who she loved dearly. She loved to draw, read, and write.

Tate Myre, 16, was an honor student and star football player at Oxford High School. He was killed as he rushed the shooter in an attempt to disarm him and give other students time to get away, according to reports.

Our hearts are also with the whole Oxford community whose lives will forever be touched by this tragedy.

We don’t have to live or die like this. We need . We need action.

🗳 MICHIGAN: Make sure to get out and VOTE today! 🗳

Today, there are almost 150 different elections across Michigan, ranging from school board elections to city council and mayoral elections to special elections in a few state senate districts.

The people who end up winning these elections can have a huge impact on curbing gun violence in our community - if we elect the right people. City councils can allocate funding to violence intervention programs, mayors can join the Mayors Against Illegal Guns coalition and start an Office of Gun Violence Prevention, and school boards can send home safe storage material to parents.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month!

In an average month 57 women are shot to death by an intimate partner. Nearly one million women alive today have been shot or shot at by an intimate partner, and approximately 4.5 million American women alive today have been threatened with a gun by an intimate partner.

Many of these women are currently living in shelters after fleeing a domestic violence situation.
