Dream Builders Workshop
We asked our young scholars, “What does being a Dream Builder mean to you?” — and their answers were powerful.

Our young scholars have a voice — we just have to give them a platform to use it. Let’s keep listening to their ideas, their dreams, and what they’re feeling. Because when youth are heard, they start to believe in the power of their own words.

Teamwork. Communication. Respect. Unity. Leadership.

At our Dream Builders Workshop, we put all of those values into action! Our young scholars were divided into groups and challenged to build the tallest mountain using only cups — and they quickly learned that true leadership isn’t about being the loudest voice, but about listening, supporting, and guiding others toward one goal.

The energy was high, the collaboration was real, and the lessons were powerful. When we lead with respect, communicate with purpose, and unite as a team, we can build something incredible — not just mountains, but character and community💪🏾

BIG salute to gwca_lions for honoring me with this award today. Major love to the staff for the amazing work they do every day for the young people and their families. 💯❤️

Grateful to have George Washington Carver Academy as such a great community partner — together we’re making a real impact.

This is bigger than me — it’s about the young scholars whose lives are being shaped. I thank God for my purpose, and I’m locked in because there’s still so much more work to do.

We’re just getting started… Let’s gooo! 🚀🔥

Walking in my calling 🙏🏾

I’m grateful to have completed courses through the National Fatherhood Academy, earning both my Retention & Recruitment Certificate and my Effective Facilitator Certificate 💪🏾

This journey of mentorship and fatherhood is about connecting the dots — not only in my own life, but in the lives of the fathers and families I serve.

I’m still learning as a father. I’m still growing as a father. And truthfully, I’ll always be growing. I don’t make all the right decisions, but I strive daily to become better!

As I grow, my purpose is to help other fathers grow too — to strengthen relationships with their children, to show up with love, and to lead by example. Because when fathers rise, families thrive❤️

Our New Dad Kickoff Event was nothing short of amazing! The impact was powerful, the energy was inspiring, and the collaboration made it all possible. Huge gratitude to The Children's Center of Wayne County, Detroit Health Department and our incredible committee for coming together to serve and empower fathers.

We were able to bless families with car seats, diapers, strollers, gift cards, and more —but the real gift was the connection. Fathers engaged in ACES classes, family history discussions, and conversations on the importance of building strong father-child bonds.

Special s/o to Karl Gooden 🎥 for capturing the moment and bringing the vision to life.

This was just the kickoff—stay tuned for more fatherhood initiatives and powerful events ahead. Fathers, we see you. Fathers, we need you. Fathers, we celebrate you🎯

Another amazing end of the year celebration hosted by , I'm very proud of each and every one of the scholars who participated this year, and a definite proud mentor moment for winning this award Randy💪🏾🫡. Well deserved indeed, continue to learn, grow, and elevate towards your dreams.. True brotherhood for life!

To be honored with two meaningful awards is not just a win for me — it’s a win for the mission, the movement, and the communities we serve.

The first award, from , recognizes the work we’ve done through the Fatherhood Initiative — uplifting, supporting, and empowering fathers to be present, engaged, and equipped.

The second award, presented by the , celebrates our Youth Male Mentorship & Coaching Program for our Young Kings — a commitment to guiding young men through their challenges, helping them tap into their potential, and walking with them as they build a future they can be proud of.

These recognitions mean so much — not just because of the acknowledgment, but because they reflect the real impact of this mission-led work. It’s a reminder that we’re making a difference… but also, that we’re just getting started.

I remain:
🔒 Locked in.
🎯 Focused.
💯 Committed.

There is still so much more work to do — so many more youth to uplift, so many more fathers to reach. And I’m here for it all.
